We've basically had no real winter this year. I talked to mom yesterday and she's had more snow this year than we've had! Today we were out shooting pictures and I was tempted to take my jacket off but I was carrying a gun and didn't want to spook anyone even though open carry is legal here. I wish I didn't feel the need for one but with the oxycontin and meth problems plaguing even our rural area i feel it's better to have a weapon and not need it than to need it and not have it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08812329358511747697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-344902957315839144.post-68916515992323404512012-02-15T18:07:31.664-06:002012-02-15T18:07:31.664-06:00The closer you live to a large city the more you a...The closer you live to a large city the more you awful news you hear. Yesterday we had a 12 year old attempt to run off with a man from California that was 28. Fortunately they put a stop to that...horrifying thing...I surely do feel for the parents but it could have been far worse. On the brighter side I am glad to see spring's approach. She never arrived there and didn't return home. The police there issued a "silver alert" and were looking for her all weekend. They found her Monday morning, several miles from where she intended to go, in a parking lot in her car, with the door open during a snow storm. They lived near Boulder Colo. She was unconcious when they found her. She went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital, they revived her, but was going to have to be kept on life support. Before my son-in-law and his brother had to make the decision on whether to keep her on life support, she passed away. It was a horrible ordeal for them all. The one thing that helped them was the doctor told them that freezing was a kind way to die because you just go to sleep and never wake up. We don't know if she got lost, or if she got confused, but she was just a couple of miles away from where the police were looking. I hope the man there is found.Leave It To Davishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10510401202733633537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-344902957315839144.post-80926656053634912822012-02-15T10:28:20.226-06:002012-02-15T10:28:20.226-06:00Have you read "I'm Still Alice"? It is a riviting story written by a Dr. about a 50 yr. old woman, just turned with early on-set Alzheimer's. She was a Professor at Harvard. Goes to show you..mind exercises aren't the key.
