Thank you all for the comments on my blog yesterday!  And now to answer some questions from blogging friends. 

• I am not 100 years old.  In fact, I have quite a way to go to get there.  Some days I feel older than 100.
• The nearest large city to me is Peoria.  At my old home the nearest large city/cities was Champaign’Urbana the home of the University of Illinois and the Fighting Illini.
• I did start blogging on Windows Live Spaces in early September 2005 when blogging was fairly new.  My husband had just been diagnosed with lymphoma.  At that time I developed a wide circle of supportive blogging friends.  Many are still with me today, here on blogger, wordpress or at facebook.

Cold and blustery…

on this the 63rd day on the countdown till spring.  My post never showed up on the blogger list for yesterday.  That happens frequently with blogger.  Sometimes I think a lot about leaving them and concentrating on Wordpress but they are not so great either.  I do miss the early blogging days on Windows Live Spaces.  If you want to follow my blog your best bet is Bloglovin’ which you will find in the left hand column of my blog.  Just check the box in the left hand column.

It all started in 2005…

My husband had just been diagnosed with lymphoma.  I had started a blog on Windows Live Spaces shortly before that.  I was overwhelmed and gave that blog up only to start it up again shortly after.  I missed my blogging family.

There was Ariana, my very first blogging friend who was a teacher in Chicago at that time.  I still know how to find her now as she is on Facebook and she comes to visit me once in awhile.  And then next there was Carole in Tennessee, Carol in Michigan, Joe in Montana, Nicky in Scotland, Nita in England, Kerrie in Australia, Patsy in West Virginia, Nancy in Missouri, Stephen in Illinois, Stephen in Michigan, Shelly in Michigan, Sheila, Pen and Arlene in England and Paul in Boston who calls me his big sister and the list goes on and on.  I can’t name everyone so I won’t even try,  Just know that my Windows Live Spaces friends were and still are special friends to me.  I even had the privilege of meeting a couple of them in person and chats on the telephone and on messenger with many of them.  I cried when 3 of my blogging friends died.

Over 2 years ago Live Spaces kicked us out and moved our blogs over to Wordpress. That is when I started blogging on Blogger.  And several of my old blogging friends started blogging here too.  And I made a whole new list of blogging friends.  My blogging family was getting larger.  They care what happens to me and they show it.

I have made so many new friends here on Blogger.  Among them is one special lady named Mildred who thought enough of me after I was in the hospital last month to send me a lovely gift.



It was lost in the mail for a few weeks but I finally received it yesterday afternoon.  Thank you Mildred!!

I found a lovely young lady in California here on my new blogspot.  Her name is Janice and she is battling cancer.  I have adopted her as a daughter.

And here again in Blogger, the list goes on and on.  I  can’t name all of you but you are all special to me.  You lift me up each day with your posts and comments.

Windows Live Spaces Friends,,,

Many of my blogging friends don’t remember the days of Windows Live Spaces.   There are still a few of us left who have been together for almost 7 years now.  Those few are very special to me in addition to the new blogging friends I have made since moving to Blogspot.  One of my friends from WLS has gifted me with a beautiful award.    http://rappingonamelody.blogspot.com/ designed this award.  She is a very talented lady who has been my loyal blogging friend since the days of WLS.  THANKS!!

I try to check my blogger dashboard daily to see who has posted.  I then try to comment, if it is only a ‘Hi, how are you.’  I would love for all of you my loyal blogging friends to post this award on your blog.  A special thanks to Paul (my adopted brother). Nancy, Carole,Carol,Ed,Joe, Horst, Nita, Sheila, Pen, Arlene, Jerry, Dianne, Fab, Terry, Sherry, Lady Jude, Chip, Bertie (and a few more I know I am missing) for sticking with me for several years now.  For praying for Jim and holding me up when he passed away.  Also thanks to the many new friends I have found since being on blogspot.   Too many to name but I appreciate you all.  OOOPS, I about forgot Seth who is every mother’s dream of the perfect son and has been a faithful blogging friend for years.  Thanks Seth for cheering me up and encouraging me.  You all will surely be blessed!

I have been out running errands this morning so I am late as usual.  Don’t give up on me RB.  If you don’t see my post just check back later.

It is a lovely day on this on the 10th day till the  first day of Spring.  The temp is 34 right now and the sun is shining brightly.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I couldn’t believe it was true…

I couldn’t believe it was true.

My eyes filled with tears,

I must have aged 10 years,

I couldn’t believe it was true.

Sadly, it is true.  The blogs we have been posting for 5 years and more will be gone in a flash come March 2011.  Yes, WLS will move them to Word Press and I did try that with one of my spaces that I don’t post on very often.  It is very blah looking.  Your posts are imported with the photos that are part of the blog included plus comments.  And that is about it guys, nothing else is moved.  For my main space I downloaded to my hard drive,  It took a few minutes and the photos in the posts are nothing but Xs. I had 5 blogs on spaces.  I have deleted 2 of them completely, moved one and still have my main space and recipe space to decide on.  I have downloaded the photo albums I wanted to save and deleted the rest.  In March I will delete my main space.  I will try and find a home for my recipe space as it is one I have dedicated to Jim.

I have been on a grocery shopping binge this morning.  First to County Market where Del Monte canned veggies on sale @ 50 cents each along with a coupon where you buy 12 cans and get $2 off, plus lots of other good bargains,  Then on to Kroger where I stocked up on TV dinners.

This week has been a tough one for me while I am winding down from a big rush of company last week.  I miss my sister even though she did holler for coffee a lot and I don’t drink coffee anymore.  LOL  It is lonely again.

I got my all combined flu shot last Friday with no adverse reactions.  Now I have had a pneumonia and flu shot this year and I hope to be protected.

For some reason I have a headache today so I think I am heading for a couple of Tylenol and the recliner.  Still don’t have my back door finished.  It is in but still needs lots of trim work done on it.  I am heading to Walmart tomorrow to get lots of heavy duty weather stripping.

Lovely day so far…

even though I can’t get in to my profile or my space or look at a private message on WLS that has been sent to me.  It has been a really nice day until I decided to go back on spaces for a little while.  I really am getting more inclined to tell them goodbye.  My wonderful blogging friends are holding me back.

I purchased a new chair today.  I posted a pic of it on my WLS.  You are all welcome to come and sit in it.  I spent a very nice morning with my daughter and the weather has been above beautiful today.  I didn’t get any mail for the 3rd day in a row so that means I don’t have any bills to pay at the moment.

This is just an update to let you all know that I am among the living (thank God) and I posted a new blog on Spaces today.
