I started my Christmas shopping yesterday. My daughter and I went to Kohls in East Peoria where I managed to spend a big chunk. That did include a new winter coat for me and several Christmas presents. Then afterwards we ate at the China Buffet. It was not bad as there was a lot of American food there. I don’t like Chinese food as it seems to me that there is cabbage in everything. Lots of different desserts too. You should remember as I am telling you about these places we eat at that I only eat one plateful of food. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to waddle.
Plus I workout every day and that helps too.
A friend of my daughter got tickets for us and we are going to see Don Williams Sunday night at the Peoria Civic Center. Most of you have probably never heard of him. He is a classic country artist who ranks right there with George Jones and Johnny Cash. Williams is best known for his # 1 hit You’re My Best Friend. I love that song.
“You placed gold on my finger
You brought love like I've never known
You gave life to our children
And to me, a reason to go on.
Chorus:
You're my bread when I'm hungry
You're my shelter from troubled winds
You're my anchor in life's ocean
But most of all, you're my best friend.
When I need hope and inspiration
You're always strong when I'm tired and weak.
I could search this whole world over
You'd still be everything that I need.”
I am doing laundry this morning. I have one load finished and one in the dryer. I am planning to go to visit my sister’s grave today and put some flowers in her vase. Her birthday is November 5. Then I have to go by the pharmacy and pick up some prescriptions so it will be a busy morning.
Stay safe and be happy.
