of the mud slinging and name calling and downright mean political ads and I couldn’t be happier. I voted a couple of weeks ago, praying all the while that I was casting the right vote. We should all know by tomorrow. I will watch some of the returns tonight. I will, however, not let it upset me, just pray that the person who ends up in the White House will work for the best interests of our great nation. I am always so proud to say that I am an American and I love my country!
That said, I am up early this morning. I have laundry going and an appointment for a hair cut later on this morning. Just my ordinary routine. There is nothing I like better than ordinary. When it gets to be extra ordinary then my mind gets boggled and my stomach gets upset and I am a nervous wreck.
I just found out yesterday that my supplemental insurance is going up $64 a month in January. I could switch because it is open season for federal employees right now but I am well pleased with my coverage so I guess I will stick with the tried and true hoping that they don’t throw a curve ball at me. Oh well, if they do I will survive because I am a tough cookie . I am fortunate to be able to afford insurance!
I hope you have all voted. If you haven’t get moving!
Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
I voted over a week ago and man, it took at least 45 minutes..closer to 50 to get out the door again. They also chose a horrible place to have the machines, only 4, where it was crowded and not able to handle all of the people lined up.
ReplyDeleteI love ordinary days too, Twin.
xoxox
There has been some real nasty ads this election and I'm glad it's soon over!
ReplyDeleteI love ordinary! Have a nice day!
I'm happy this will all be over. I will get out there and vote later.
ReplyDeleteI'm happiest when it's an ordinary day too!
Hi Beth,
ReplyDeleteYour elections seem to go on forever, Amen to your prayer that the right man will be elected.

I think the plan to let those vote early was a good one..I hope a whole lot did. It may be tooo close to call early though..probably days before we know. At least all the calls are over and that other stuff and we can sort of get back to some normalcy. Hope your day goes smoothly..tell her not to cut too much off..it's a long winter..;-) XOXO
ReplyDeleteI got my voting done early this AM. SOOOOO glad the commercials and phone calls will stop. Hope things start going more up hill for this country of ours. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteLove your attitude here my friend, I'm doing my very best to emulate that as well. I voted early too and am glad it's out of my hands now.
ReplyDeleteI voted even before walking!!!!
ReplyDeleteI voted at 10:00 this morning and I GOT A STICKER!!! They gave me a sticker that says "I VOTED!" I was so excited, I called my daughter and told her and she's gonna' go vote just to get the sticker. lol Really, I'm proud of that sticker. I put it on my badge to wear to work. It's a privilege to vote...even if I don't understand the whole political scene of electoral college and "key states"....I want someone to know who I was rooting for. I had a neighbor with a sign in their yard that said, "Willie Nelson For President." No telling who would win if we all just got to pick our own person we thought should run.....
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the ads will be over but yikes to see what this next year will bring on to us!! i did vote I mail mine in because we live so rural. Hope you have a blessed day Beth
ReplyDeleteHUGS :))

I got my vote in a couple weeks ago to.. I'm also glad it's about over.. All the mud slinging and negetive ads and trashy mail in the mailbox everyday.. Yes all we can do is pray now..
ReplyDeletewe voted this morning as well..and yes we got our little stickers too! We the voters go through all this and all we get to take home is a sticker ...kind of like your parents going on vacation and all they bring you back is a Tshirt..
ReplyDeleteOh well, I too shall watch the returns. I hope it goes well. I have been praying.
I'm so glad that this election is almost over. It can't come soon enough for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's finally here-I agree we will need to pray for the president.

I did vote and I will be glad to have this day behind us (I think) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible day! But I am very glad that the phone calls will stop. This election was ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteI always vote. People die all over the world to be able to vote. We are very very lucky here.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
Routine sounds pretty good after the mad house of these elections! I'm with you, I'm glad it's over and I'll be praying for our leaders!
ReplyDeleteI hope that whoever you voted for got to be President Carrie, though it makes no personal difference to me, I felt that Mr Obama seemed the more sincere of the two, and I'm glad to say that he was voted in again, I think he'll do his best. Keep well. X
ReplyDeleteInsurance is such a pain. But I'm thankful for it, even though it's costly and mine has become exceedingly expensive ... I retired based on the promise of the State of Illinois to provide insurance to retirees with 20 years or more of service ... I was 57 when I retired and wouldn't have retired had I not been confident that I'd have the State of Illinois coverage until I was eligible for Medicare. Now the State has decided to try to balance its budget on the back of its retirees ... effective July 1, 2012 the legislature passed the bill requiring me to pay the premium for my insurance ... and the governor signed it into effect. Can't afford to do without insurance, but certainly wasn't planning on having to pay an arm and a leg for it for almost 4 years (I won't be 65 until February, 2016). Sorry ... I'll step down off my soapbox now.
