and we escaped the ice, just getting pretty steady rain all day yesterday. This morning it is foggy with 48 degrees. Tomorrow is to be mid 60s with thunderstorms and then another cold front comes through.
I am so glad the days are inching closer to spring. Friday will be the 1st day of February. I have always thought that January was the hardest winter month to get through. Actually pretty depressing.
I am still looking at old photos. This is a photo of my mom’s family. That is my grandfather and grandmother in the front row. My mother is standing on the far right. My mother had 7 siblings. One of them is missing from this picture. If my cousin Audrey in Michigan is reading this will you please let me know who is missing from the picture.
I need to get off here and get busy, also go check my car out. It made some funny noise when I started it yesterday. I am tired of putting money in my car but I only have 85,000 miles on it and I have to leave my car sit outside in the elements. For that reason I hate to buy a new car.
Have a good week all of you! Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
I can't wait for February.
ReplyDeleteHope the car issue isn't a big one.
Nice picture. There is a site here for our town that everyone is putting up old pictures it. It sure is fun to look through, and one of the supermarkets made a dvd of a lot of the pictures.
ReplyDeleteAh the trials and tribulations of owning a vehicle. Hope you don't have any serious problems with your car.
I love to see pictures, b&w are my fav! what a great memory captured.
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for your car, that really is becoming a pain in the butt :(
Your ice came up here. First we had 2 inches of snow, followed by ice. Today should be above freezing, so hopefully all the ice will melt. Love your picture.
ReplyDeleteGet a Subaru! All wheel drive, good on ice and snow. Excellant on price and gas mileage. I did not think i would like ours, but I do.
ReplyDeleteAgain, love the pics, old black and whites are my favorite.
I cannot BELIEVE that Feb is almost here already!!
ReplyDeletelooking at old pictures is a fun way to pass the time!! february is a short month....i spend a lot of march getting my gardens ready for spring!! it's almost here!!
ReplyDeletewe are getting snow, just a light dusting expected, then ice, then rain!!
We are getting the ice today.
ReplyDeleteLove old photo, and the men's haircuts of that era are funny.
ReplyDeleteSleet here today. Wiper blades are out and up - in case turns to ice.
Interesting Picture Beth Lovely. It's raining here Beth and Windy .
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and stay safe and warm.
Hugs Sheila xx
glad you escaped ice and sleet - this time anyway.
ReplyDeleteBeth, We had luck on our side too. The ice stayed north of our area. Blessing. I count everyone I get.:)The photo of the family is nice. I wish I had more of my mother and father's families. My Teddy has over 200,000 miles on our truck and say it's just broken in good.LOL You have to stay on top of oil changes and repairs. Hope you car doesn't need repairs. Stay safe Beth. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to February too, January is often quite a depressing month, so many hours of darkness.. Once Feb, gets here and it is a shorter month, well 2 days can make all the difference lol :) it seems March and Spring is just round the corner.
We're actually having some days like spring here lately. It is supposed to be 70 here today. The bad part is that it dips back into the 20's later this week. That's why everyone gets sick around here! lol!
ReplyDeleteLove looking at old pictures too!
Have a great week, Beth Marie!
Tammy
i enjoy your old photos very much!
ReplyDeleteno school today...freezing rain and sleet..NO FUN!
Happy Day to You! It's so fun and interesting to look at old family photos. Our weather is similar to yours ~ a little snow today, near 60 on Wednesday, and then back in the deep freeze. Blah!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week :)
Enjoy your week, Beth. Old pictures are really fun, I think. I sympathize with your concern over your car. Spring has to be on its way and I too, don't want to wait. BGB
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are that the ice missed you! I am the keeper of the photos here, and there are many people whose names I do not know.:-( Our present temperature is 54 degrees! No more ice here!

I'm with you...January is the bleakest of the months and the hardest to deal with. It isn't really bad here in Arizona, but when we lived in the midwest and Mountain West it just seemed like Janaury was a lifetime away from spring. Great family pictures! Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteOnce again your weather will be our weather in a few days.
ReplyDeleteI too like old b&w pictures. Maybe I'll post a few.
I like the old photograph and hope your car is okay.
ReplyDeleteGreat old photo- Hope you can figure out who is missing! I hope your car is okay, too- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBeth - don't you love going thru old pictures? But, it is frustrating when you don't know who someone is and don't have anyone to ask.
ReplyDeleteJudy
What a nice old photo! We have 3 cars, and all 3 are way over 100,000 miles and are close to 10 years old each! Very grateful that they run good and continue to pray that they last! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love your old photos always nice Beth.
ReplyDeleteYou find out funny noise car that reason you think about that but it going to be okay.
Enjoy nice day!
Lovely old photo.
ReplyDeleteWell January is just about gone, with each day it's closer to your spring.
Hope your car is ok, it must be freezing :)
As I write this it is 60* and thunderstorming. Crazy weather. I can't imagine what Spring &Summer will bring. I love your pictures. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been far too dry, I'm concerned that that will continue into spring and summer like it did last year. I love warmer weather but I have no love for a drought. I hear you on the car, our mileage is similar but we do have a garage, I'd like a new one however that would mean higher cost for license plate tags..ugh. Have a good day my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo Beth your Mother was beautiful. Strange warm weather but I will take it after last weeks bitter cold.. B
ReplyDeleteHey let's not rush things:) That heat can hold off for a bit more time:)
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are not alone with hating to sink money into a car that never seems to last as long as we would like between wanting more money to be sunk into it again............lol I am glad that I do not live in an area that is not kind on a car
