“About These Ads
The site you just visited is part of WordPress.com. There are two reasons why you might see ads on a WordPress.com site:
- The site is part of the WordAds program and has elected to show ads to earn money from their site.
- The site is one of the sites hosted on WordPress.com that has not purchased the No Ads upgrade, and we are running ads to cover the costs of operating the site for the user. We run these types of ads sparingly in an attempt to interfere as little as possible with the experience of reading a site and for logged in users we don’t show ads at all. There’s more info about our approach to ad serving in this blog post.
In both of the above cases, the ad you saw could be coming from a number of ad partners including Sharethrough, Federated Media, or AdSense. The ads change depending on factors like your location and the type of site you are visiting.
If you are a WordPress.com user and you would like to permanently remove all ads from your site, please take a look at our No Ads upgrade.” This is what you will see if you click on about these ads which is placed directly above the ad.
There are definitely ads placed on your word press blogs unless you have paid for an upgrade. I know this for a fact. I have 3 word press blogs and I have seen ads at the bottom of the blogs. Also when I visit someone’s word press blog I see the ads at the bottom of the blog. I am clarifying this for some readers who commented that there were no ads on your word press blog unless you were compensated for them. And that is the way word press works.

I have been to the post office this morning, the bank and Bergner’s stopping off at Mickey D’s for a chicken sandwich. Lots of good buys this morning at Bergner’s.
I hope you all have a good week. Stay safe and be happy!!

I don't like it, to me they always want you to buy this or buy that=why call it a free blog? Well thats my ish with them, SPACES was my first love now am a blogger girl much prefer it to WORDPRESS but thats just me.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
Beth, At least you got out and about for a bit. I met up with my classmates for brunch this morning. Mt sister joins us, sometimes. It was wet out, but not cold. I do not even know what wordpress is...so I hope I do not have it:):)xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteLOL! Susie, if you don't know what word press is then you don't have it. And, believe me, you are not missing anything.
DeleteI guess the ads are so far down the page I don't see them then or something. I will have to check it out. Glad you found some bargains.. I always love it when I do. Take care Sis.. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteI haven't used my wordpress for ages, although I did move my blog there from live spaces.
It is snowing here again and very very cold.
Take Care, Hugs Nita
I didn't know that about WordPress. I am confused enough with Blogger- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying that Beth, Maybe I'll give seconds thoughts to bouncing over to Word Press.
ReplyDeleteI tired WordPress and just couldn't get the hang of it. Glad you got out and about today!
ReplyDeleteI have AdSense on my (Blogger) blog. Supposedly we get paid per click on the ads. I have made $1.00. My account says I am owed $15.36 in past revenue, but I don't know why they don't send it to me and I don't know how to get it. Just think of all the wonderful things I could do with $15.36.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Just like Rhapsody I opened a Wordpress as a result of Spaces demise but I never did anything with it. How do you manage all those blogs? I can barely manage one. I do miss Spaces. I had a lot of fun there and miss many of the people that I became friendly with.
ReplyDeleteI don't use Wordpress, but Munchomom does.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've had a good day, Beth. March is moving right along!
xo Nellie
Hello Beth I did not know any of this but then again I do not know much about anything in Blogland:) Have a nice week Beth. Hug B
ReplyDeleteI love Blogger...wouldn't use anything else for the world. Don't want to earn money from my blog....just want to read and write and take pictures and share and chat. I have learned so much from everyone that it is a learning aid for me! lol And I get wonderful recipes from lovely ladies like yourself! And we give each other virtual hugs...what could make life better? yep, love my blogger blog! Had it for 5...going on 6 years now. That is amazing to me! I figured they would start charging me money for using it! Thanks, Blogger! You're the best!
ReplyDeleteI'm staying right where I am. Thanks Beth!
ReplyDeletei always wonder if much money is earned from advertising on your blog??
ReplyDeletei am not interested, but wondered just the same!
Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI never took advantage of Wordpress when WLS collapsed. I left before it all came down and started a blog over here...that's good information though. Have a blessed day my friend!
ReplyDeleteI used to have ads on my blog until Google decided I was making too much money and canceled my account right before they were due to send me a nice check of $135. My daughter has a wordpress blog and does have ads on the bottom of it...I wonder if she placed them there or if wp did. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI have a free google blog. I haven't set up adsense yet. I don't know if I will bother.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice and safe week!
That's interesting regarding wordpress blog, I have had mine for years, then cancelled it but suppose I kept it open as it's always there and haven't seen any ads on it yet! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Beth I did often wonder.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day Sheila
