You can tell spring is here when the garage/church sales start popping up. Friday was a very good garage sales day. The weather was overcast and windy. I had on winter coat, hat and gloves so I stayed fairly warm, We saw lots of spring color. There was a lovely tree all bloomed out at one garage sale. I asked the gentleman in charge if I could take a picture and he said yes. His wife came outside and wasn’t happy for some reason. She did allow me to take the picture although I think she jinxed it because it didn’t turn out well. The husband said as we were leaving that the wife said if they ever divorced that she was taking the tree. lol
Then we saw this lovely whatever it is as we were driving by a house. Picture below.
I have never seen anything like it before.
Then when I dropped my daughter off I started admiring her neighbors flowers. I snuck a few pics since I knew they wouldn’t mind.
I was trying to hone in on the tulips here but I didn’t want to be so obvious. If you will click on the pictures you will see Fred and Jeanie’s tulips.
I did get several books at a church sale and a few other things. It was fun!! I love garage sales!
Have a wonderful day! Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
It's a mighty relief to see some spring signs popping up now don't you think? It's been loath to behave like spring here but I think it's beyond hiding at this point. Love the flowering trees my friend, have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there are some signs of spring appearing in your area. It is about time, too! Have a blessed Sunday! xo Nellie
ReplyDeletehooray for spring blooms!
ReplyDeleteI love spring. Have no fear better weather is near. Beautiful here at the moment.
ReplyDeleteLove that tree beautiful Blossoms ..a few miles away from me they have Cheery Blossom tress but they aren't full on yet.
ReplyDeleteThose houses are really lovely .
Enjoy your day Beth x
I love garage sales, too. The sales got rained out yesterday, but I'm sure there will be many in the next few weeks! Enjoyed your pics.
ReplyDeleteI have found some wonderful things that way. When I was a child we would never had been allowed to stop at a sale-it just wasn't done. ;-) Boy, were they missing out!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, That second photo of yours shows a little tree that looks like it could be a flowering Crab-apple tree. We have lots of these trees in our area.
ReplyDeleteGlad spring is finally bringing some color to your area. I love garage sales too and am looking forward to when they start here.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the garage sale and that spring is finally coming to you. : )
ReplyDeleteHi Beth
ReplyDeleteSigns of spring, sure are good. Love to see all the flowers appearing and the blossom trees.
Have a good week - Hugs Nita
Hi Beth! I love, love, LOVE that tree! Glad you got some good deals. :)
ReplyDeleteBeth, The story of the tree made me laugh...wonder what the lady's problem was about. I like yard / garage sales also. I have been enjoying all the flowers too. I like to look ay everyone's yards and see how they landscape . Hope you ahve a good week Beth. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI used to have a Bradford pear tree that looked much like the one the lady was protecting. It was so pretty and then one day it just died....all of a sudden...overnight.
ReplyDeleteWe also had a Bradford Pear when we lived in Illinois (Fairview Heights - by Belleville) and one night, it a storm, it was struck by lighting and that was the end of it. Fell over and blocked the driveway and I had to get someone to come and cut it up and haul it off. It was a pretty tree though and I will also remember it. I'm not sure why the woman would be upset that you took a picture of her tree. That doesn't seem friendly at all. I love yard sales too, but didn't go out this week. Yard sales in Illinois were MUCH better - here in Arizona they are mostly high-priced junk! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny that some people get all put out when you want to take a photo of something like a tree which to me is hardly invading someones privacy.......the trees you have shown here are lovely indeed
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, that is a gorgeous tree!
ReplyDeleteYard sales are a sure sign of spring. The city wide one will be coming soon. You know, I've only been to 1 yard sale in my life. I think it was because my husband saw something as we drove by that he wanted to check out, lol.
ReplyDeleteThere were a couple of yard sales in my subdivision Saturday...a sure sign of spring!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know you love your garage sales--and now the season has begun! Truly is spring when you have flowers, flowering trees, and garage sales. :):)
ReplyDeleteI need to finish my yard work so I can donate stuff to our upcoming church sale!
