“Pekin Riverfront Park more river than park
Apr 23, 2013 @ 12:18 PM
The Illinois River claims large sections of Pekin Riverfront Park in downtown Pekin as flood waters cover the walkways and boat docks Tuesday.”

I really hate going downtown here because of the cobbled up one way streets. In fact, I refuse to drive downtown.
It rained all day long yesterday, a steady moderate rain. It is only 38 degrees right now. The furnace is running but the sun is shining. I have to go out in a little while for an appointment which is fortunately not downtown.
Nothing else new to report here. The Arias trial is pushing towards the conclusion. It moved along rather quickly yesterday.
I hope it is sunny wherever you are. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
No sunny here yet, tho they keep promising. lol Still raining off and on...we're flooding too. Not US, but around here. In Grafton it's pretty bad...saw a picture of one riverfront restraunt that had water up to the middle of the windows. It always floods there. I always think how stupid it is thet they just build back year after year...
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for real spring--how about you ?? lol
Ah man, I'm sorry to hear that. I have family that lives in Illinois and they say it's bad.
ReplyDeletebe safe!
ReplyDeleteI hope it stops raining soon. Stay safe Beth
ReplyDeleteI saw that on tv - are you okay? sandie
ReplyDeleteI wish I could send you some warmth. We're to hit 82 today. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
We are still flooded, too. Our house is on a little hill, but many neighbourhoods around us are flooded. That is the problem with living on a "chain of lakes", with channels and marshes...they all flood when there is a downpour like we had last week.
ReplyDeleteFlooding changes everything thing doesn't it? I remember the last time we had terrible flooding here. The good news is we live in an area described well as the "heights" which means most water flows away from here. Stay safe my friend.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a long trial and I still do not know what it is. Take care B
ReplyDeleteWe had some rain this afternoon, but not nearly the amount you have had. Stay high and dry! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteHope the rain stops soon and the floods do not get any worse.
We have had a couple of summer like days, but think it is set to get cold and rainy again end of week.
Hugs Nita.
Beth, It rained last night and most of today. I am sorry your towns are being flooded. Our little town and a couple more have had a rough few days because of flooding too. Hopefully they will give government aide to those in need. I feel blessed, just a wet basement and the pumps running. It's getting to be a bit depressing with this nasty weather. Stay dry friend. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteso much flooding, scary! Stay warm and dry my friend,
ReplyDeleteThe cobblestone street are nice to look at but you're right, not good for driving on or walking.
ReplyDeleteLongest trial EVER....too much information for me!! Hoping for a day of bright sunshine for you!!
ReplyDeleteCoblestone streets and Jo-Anne equals........a fall.........not sure about driving over them but I know if I walk over them I am more then likely to fall over on because that is how I roll....and by roll I mean fall........
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how cold and rainy it has been there! That trial is something, isn't it? It's a trainwreck I can't look away from if I turn it on. I've already made my mind up!!!! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHope things dry up soon for all of us..terrible flooding north of me. Our county just went under a warning tonight. Cold here though Wed. felt like winter again. This crud I have in my head won't release me until it gets warmer I am afraid.. take care Sis.. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing photos on the news..stay safe..I hope you are high and dry! :)
ReplyDeletePlease stay dry and safe, Beth.
ReplyDelete'tis overcast at the moment of typing this, Beth, and I hear you, about the cobbles, they may look cute but they do make walking/driving difficult... Hope the weather's improved today ... hugs aplenty.. xPenx
ReplyDeleteSunny here, wish we could share weather so you wouldn't be so soppy wet! Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteNo sun here across the Pond Beth, maybe tomorrow .
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your travels.
Hugs Sheila x

ReplyDeleteStay safe and dry if you can! I'll keep you in my prayers :)
ReplyDeleteOH Twin...what weather woes. I hope things even out soon. XXXOOO
ReplyDeleteWow! Keep us updated and please stay safe. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds nasty! Do look after yourself. Cobbles are awful to drive on or walk on when wet! Please be careful. Joan
ReplyDeleteOur river is holding strong here so far. I sure hope it stays that way. With water both north and south of us it is a worry. Hope all eases up soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Beth, I was just thinking of you last night when they announced that Peoria had flooding. What a mess and it's so sad that this has to happen., The poor people that have flooded basements, etc. Like you said, even navigating around town can be a nightmare. Hope it goes down soon and life gets back to normal.
