It is a beautiful Sunday morning in central Illinois weather wise. The Illinois River is at flood stage along the river front in Peoria and various other locations in this area including here. We have more rain forecast this week so that sounds iffy.
River Front Peoria Illinois 21 April, 2013 Flooding Update…
A concrete barrier is being constructed along Water Street from the 401 Water parking deck to Liberty Street in anticipation of record flooding. The barrier will be sandbagged to try to prevent water from crossing Water Street. Water Street is currently closed from Eaton to the 401 parking deck and will remain closed for several days.

ReplyDeleteThis weather for ALL of it seems is strange. All over the Country.
ReplyDeleteWe keep watching the river down the street. It's crazy out there. Love the cartoon. Gives something to smile about in these crazy times.
ReplyDeleteThe Mississisloppy is at flood stage too. sigh...And I had to laugh at the name Water Street. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to hang laundry outside today. and play in the mud. We'd like to get some gatrden work done, but now that it's warm, it's awfully wet. lol Can't win !
Hope your Sunday is perfect. xoxoxo
i hope the floods can be controlled!
ReplyDeleteWow. The weather is really crazy, huh? You have too much rain and we need it here. Hope you won't get flooded out. Love the Jello cartoon---reminds me of my younger days when my parents used to laugh at me because I chewed my Jello! HA!
ReplyDeleteBeth, I am praying you do not get that rain...we don't want it either.:) these two days of sun have helped...but we need more. Hope you have a safe week. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWe had a lot of flooding up north here. So much damage to basements in homes and some of our expressways to the city were closed. Terrible. I hope things dry up soon.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Sending happy wishes on this Sunday, Beth, and hoping any flooding will stay far away from where you are located! xo Nellie

ReplyDeleteThought I'd pop back over and thank you for your sweet words on mine and tell you that I'm in the process of publishing my second book now.. "Echoes Of Time" should be out soon.. Thanks again. Hope you have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone is safe! Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad, seeing everyone still under water. Entire neighbourhoods in my area are still submerged. I hope this next rain front misses us. We need a little break, too much all at once. Feast or famine, drought or flood...moderation.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such strange weather as I've seen this spring.
ReplyDeleteOh Beth keep warm and dry. I love your cartoon:) B
ReplyDeletefloods, so scary!! what a weird spring for everyone!!
ReplyDeleteThey are sandbagging up here, too. We've had bad flooding 4 out of the last 5 years...if what they expect this year comes to pass.
ReplyDeleteFunny cartoon!! I can't believe they didn't put something else in that recipe--like little marshmallows or fruit cocktail or bananas--oh--and don't forget the whipped cream on top--ROFL!
What can I say I hope you are all well and it doesn't flood I am lucky I have never been in a flood and I hope I never am......
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the river in our town too. It has gotten high, but not dangerously so. It usually goes over every year, but I think we are going to dodge the bullet this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding my blog(s).
I do not write on the one you visited very often any longer. It began as a political outlet, but I am tired of the constant ranting. I began using it to chronicle my daughter's journey, which is now over. Sometimes I will add a little something as a tribute to her. My every day blog is http://yestheyareallmine-mom.blogspot.com/ I would really love to visit with you there.
Have to go read more of your blog now :)
I thinking your weather is so cold with out spring weather...
ReplyDeleteWe having a cold time is coming and I can have my full teeth
for 24th April.
Hope you having a nice day!
Michiko
