Happy St. Patricks’s Day…

“There are only two kinds of people in the world, The Irish and those who wish they were !”  an old Irish proverb.

I claim to be half Irish on my daddy’s side.  Heaven knows my maiden name is proof of that.  I have never traced my daddy’s roots but I know that my cousin Mike in Missouri has been trying to do this.    Actually that is how I found my cousin Mike and cousin Bryce and various relatives in south central Missouri.  One day I typed my dad’s name into google and that is how I found Mike and Bryce.  They were searching for our mutual grandfather.  I happen to have a picture of my grandfather on my dad’s side which I sent to them.  In fact the picture is posted in the left column of my blog.  My dad looked just like him.

My sis Rae brought this back for me when she visited Ireland several years ago.  I love it!

It is still cold and windy here this morning but I take heart in the fact that it is only 2 days till the first day of Spring.  Hope this week is a good one for us all!

Stay safe and be happy!!

Yes, it is true…

there are only 30 days left on the countdown to Spring.  Actually only 29  if you don’t count March 20th.  Should I quit counting it and move us up a day?  I know Spring is right around the corner as I saw my first robin on Friday.  He was all spruced up with his red coat on.  He tipped his hat and danced a little jig for me.  Thanks Mr. Robin.

I am fixing lunch for my daughter and son and law  for after church.  Barbeque beef sandwiches, potato salad and baked beans.  It all smells good.  Come on over if you like.  You too RB.

It is bright sunshine again today and the temp is holding steady at 31 degrees.  It is chilly out though as I found out when I made a quick run to the store to pick up buns.  It does put me in the mood for Spring though.

My son is planning to visit me on or about his birthday on April 8th.  I don’t get to see him very much since I moved here so I am always happy to see him.

I also looking forward to St Pat’s Day as I am Irish on my dad’s side and Dutch on my mom’s.

Have a great day and stay safe and be happy!
