Last doctor visit done…

and I got hugged first.  Today was my last doctor clearance visit before the surgery and radiation.  I saw my Dr. D and my BP is managed and my kidneys are stable right now.  When I told the doctor that I would miss him he said that he was going to miss me too as I was one of his spunkiest patients.

spunk•y (ˈspʌŋ ki)
adj. spunk•i•er, spunk•i•est.

plucky; spirited.

spunk′i•ly, adv.

spunk′i•ness, n.

As the doctor was leaving he gave me a big hug and wished me well.   So I got to hug him back without having to work up the courage to do so.  I am really going to miss him.

As the days draw closer to surgery I am beginning to have quite a bit of pain and a bad earache.  It is becoming more difficult to eat, swallow and even talk.  I appreciate all of your kind thoughts and prayers.  May God Bless you all!  Stay safe and be happy!!

Love,

Beth

One more down…

and one more to go.  I saw my primary care physician yesterday for the pre-op exam which lasted about 1 hour.  On Friday I see the Nephrologist, Dr.  Dreyer.  He is the one I have blogged about that is leaving on August 13th.  He is my favorite doctor.  I found out that he is moving to Florida to be close to his mother who is ill.  I am working up the courage to give him a hug.  I certainly will wish him well.  His new patients will be very fortunate.

You know, it has been one doctor visit after another for me the last few weeks.  Unfortunately to some doctors we are only a number and not a person.  The older we get, the more we are treated as children by too many of the doctors.  I am not a genius like Einstein or Jodi Arias (inside joke you will understand if you watched the trial) but my IQ ranks right up there.  I hate being talked to as if I were a child.

Two weeks from today is the scheduled surgery and radiation.  I am very anxious to get that started so that I can see the end in sight.

I hope you all are having a peaceful week.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Yesterday…

I received a form letter from my Nephrologist Dr. Dreyer.  This doctor has managed my blood pressure and kidney disease for the length of time I have been here (3 years).  I have the highest regard for Dr. Dreyer.  I have so very many doctors but this man has been my favorite doctor.  The letter went on to state that he would be leaving the practice here as of August 1st.  But to go even farther to tell you what kind  of doctor he is he finished his letter with “You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.  Thank you for allowing me to serve you.  Take care and God Bless.”  And then a handwritten note at the bottom of the page, “ I will miss you.  Dr. D.”

Now, Dr. D. is the only doctor I have ever had who could pat me on the arm, call me dear, tell me not to worry and I would feel better.  I will miss you Dr. D.  I could think of 3 or 4 of my doctors that  I wouldn’t have minded a bit if they left.  lol

I have been extremely busy, yesterday at the dentist for most of the morning getting a full mouth x-ray teeth cleaning and doctor exam.  Tomorrow I see an ear, nose, throat doctor.  Then on Monday I see the oncologist here in town.  I will have more lab work tomorrow too.

I am extremely tired and my mind is all filled with what lies ahead for me.  I will be posting sporadically until this all gets underway.  I don’t have much energy to read your posts and I am sorry about that.  Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
