and I got hugged first. Today was my last doctor clearance visit before the surgery and radiation. I saw my Dr. D and my BP is managed and my kidneys are stable right now. When I told the doctor that I would miss him he said that he was going to miss me too as I was one of his spunkiest patients.
spunk•y (ˈspʌŋ ki)
adj. spunk•i•er, spunk•i•est.
plucky; spirited.
spunk′i•ly, adv.
spunk′i•ness, n.
As the doctor was leaving he gave me a big hug and wished me well. So I got to hug him back without having to work up the courage to do so. I am really going to miss him.

As the days draw closer to surgery I am beginning to have quite a bit of pain and a bad earache. It is becoming more difficult to eat, swallow and even talk. I appreciate all of your kind thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you all! Stay safe and be happy!!
Love,
Beth
Oh, dear Beth! I was just thinking of you ALL morning! We must have had our ESP going, huh?! That is really neat about your doctor and you hugging each other. And he called you one of his "spunkiest" patients! That is so cute!! I act goofy almost all the time and my husband will always say, "I hate spunk!" (like Lou Grant on the Mary Tyler Moore show!) Although my husband doesn't hate my punkiness.....he gets a kick out of it/me!! I'm sending you tons of hugs, prayers, peaceful thoughts, etc.!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteFirstly what a joy to read that you were hugged first and that your tests etc were stable.
You will remain in my prayers and I am sorry that you are in such pain.
Love Nita
I'm so glad you got your hug, and I'm so sorry about the pain.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Dear Beth, so sorry about the extra pain right now. I don't remember when your surgery is, but hopefully it is coming up soon. Chronic pain is miserable. Your doctor sounds like a very caring, understanding doctor, and I know you have a lot of faith in him too. You deserve a hug from him and all of us too. Thoughts and prayers are with you every day Beth. And, they will continue until you are all well! Love you friend!
ReplyDeleteaww. glad you got to hug him - even better that he hugged you first. a good doc is hard to come by...

ReplyDeleteTwin, I love you dearly. You know the rest of any and all I would and will say. xxxooo Much love.
ReplyDeleteWow - a hug even. Good for you. Sending prayers your way. I will keep you in my thoughts throughout the days ahead. I may not have all the answers, but being an oncology nurse helps me a little - if you ever have questions just ask. If I don't know, I can find out. ((HUGS))

ReplyDeleteOh, I to am having surgery in August, this time it is confirmed. Beth you have a great weekend.
Lucky you for the hug, but even luckier for the doctor to get a Beth Hug!
ReplyDeleteGosh, Beth, sure wish there was something I could do (any of us could do) to take away that pain. Be still and quiet and eat what you can and hopefully the surgery will fix that for you. I am thinking of you soooooo hard each day now and making very plaintive requests for your health, well being , and happiness mixed with a big dose of relief. My prayers for you are each morning, each afternoon, and every evening.
Sending hugs and much love your way......and those are from Lucy and Sam, too.
XOXOXO

ReplyDeleteCouldn't sleep over here; it's 1:15am and I was thinking of you and saying my prayers for your recovery. It sure will be a relief to see you post again, Beth, and I guess you can tell how much you're missed. Remember when the fur ball Lucy spoke to you in the little vid? Well, Sam and Lucy are pestering me to let them send you their favorite toys, albeit a bit chewed, to show you that they love you, too. I know, it's all silly, but what can you say to a cat? Seriously, though, I am thinking of you and pulling for you, my friend, and yes, you are sooooo loved by soooooo many. Xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI think God created us with arms just for hugging. He knew how many times throughout our lives only a hug could speak the words we want to speak. Praying for you...
ReplyDeletecoming to your blog after a long break...hope alls well Beth.
ReplyDeleteHugs are wonderfully health giving, I believe Beth, one person to another, that personal touch says it all. I hope and pray you're feeling stronger. I've caught up with your posts and wish I'd been by sooner, but had a few days away. My thoughts are with you, lovely friend. 'hugs' aplenty. xPenx
ReplyDeleteIt's Sunday and I believe your surgery is this coming Tuesday. Hold on, Beth, it's not too much longer to start recovery. I took my mom's old love out to dinner last night for his birthday...he turned 84 and was 6 yrs younger than Mom. Mom always made me promise not to tell him. Well, shoot, he lived across the street from the time he was 29 and already knew it. Anyway, I took my best friend, Mary, with us, too, and I told them about you. They both remembered me talking about you during my blogging days and they said they would immediately start their prayers for you as well. See? The circle just gets bigger and bigger. Sending MUCH love to you, Beth, and not to wish away time, but I'm wishing Tuesday would hurry up so that you can have relief and be able to begin healing, writing, and as all women need to do: Talking!
ReplyDeleteXoxoxo always from me to you~~
blessings Beth:
ReplyDeleteYou are sounding in good spirits and that is a testament to your strength. May all go well with your surgery and God holds you close and bring you through.
Have a blessed day
