1)  What was the first ever comment on your blog - who was it from and how did it make you feel? 

My very first comment when I started blogging in 2005 was from a  young lady who was a school teacher in Chicago.  Her name was Ariana.  I remember thinking what a pretty name that was.  She was just getting started blogging too.  Today she is married with a lovely daughter and is my friend on Facebook.

2)  What's your favorite cake?  I love anything with a lemon flavor but I would have to say Italian Cream Cake.  I used to make it to take to work during my years at the AFB.  You can find my recipe @ http://msbethmariesrecipes.blogspot.com/search/label/Cakes

3)  Do you have a friend who you would hate if you didn't love them so much? No, I don’t hate anyone, especially not my friends.

4) When did you last make an arse of yourself and how? I have been known to speak without thinking. 

5)  Kittens or Puppies? Either one.  I don’t have a pet but I appreciate the love that my family and friends have for their pets.

6)  Do you have an item of cleaning or cooking equipment that you don't know either what it's for or how to use it?  No.

7)  Have you ever cyber stalked anyone – or someone famous?  No.

8)  What's the weirdest injury you've ever sustained?   A stress fracture to the toes in my right foot. 

9)  Have you ever accidentally sent a text/email etc to the wrong person?  No.

10) Have you ever vlogged?   I have no idea what this means so the answer must be no.

Thank you McGuffy Ann!   Now I have to answer 10 questions.  Here goes.

1. Your favorite color?I love the color Blue but think I look the best in muted shades of pink.

2. Your favorite animal? I love watching all animals

3. Your favorite non-alcoholic drink? I don’t drink alcohol. I do drink water and I love a nice hot cup of tea with honey in it.

4. Facebook or Twitter? I am on Facebook and Twitter but rarely go on either one.

5. Your favorite pattern? Just something simple as I am not fond of complicated patterns.

6. Do you prefer getting or giving presents? I love to give!

7. Your favorite number?   Probably 9 or 21.

8.  Your favorite day of the week? When I was working of course it was Friday.  Now I am retired my favorite day is any day I am able to get out of bed!

9. Your favorite flower? I love the pansy!  It is such a gorgeous little flower, but then I love all flowers!

10. What is your passion?   I have to say just being alive.  This past few months have taught me to treasure every moment I am given and be thankful for it.

1. If you could change one thing, what would you change?
I would have the cancer research teams discover a cure for all cancers.
2. If you could repeat an age, what would it be? Any year?
I would love to go back to the time when my children were ages 6 and 9.  Among the best years of my life.
3. What is one thing that really scares you?
To be quite honest, life scares me.  I have seen a lot of life and I hope to see more but life is scary!
4. What is one dream you have not completed, and do you think you'll be able to complete it?
I have this one dream over and over.  I am out visiting somewhere and I can’t find my purse.  I always wake up before I find it.  I would like to finish that dream once and for all.
5. If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be?

No one.  I kind of like myself.  I would like to possess the courage that my sister has.  She will tackle any adversity and come out a winner.

Friday and…

Thank you Janice for this award.

I am always happy to get an award.   it means a lot to me that a blogging friend thinks that much of me.  However, after so many years, I don’t nominate others.  So many don’t want awards, and I can understand that.  I would love to see this award posted on your blog if you want to.

The really hard thing comes down to those 7 random facts.  I think after 7 years most of you know more about me than I know about myself.  So here goes something different.

Things that I don’t like:

1. I don’t like going to the dentist although I haven’t had a cavity in a blue moon (knocking on wood).
2. I hate with a passion cleaning the bathroom.
3. I don’t like going to funerals.  I am getting to the age where they are happening way too often.
4. I am bothered to the point of tears if I think I have hurt anyone’s feelings.
5. I really hate it that I had to move, leaving my home and friends behind even though it was necessary.
6. I am not fond of weddings either.  Unless it is a close friend or a family member I send a check.
7. I  don’t like clutter.  I may not get the sweeper out each day but I keep things tidy.

And that is it.  No more questions and answers for me as I am all answered out.    I am on my way to check out the garage sales.  I promise to visit you all when I get back.

Thank you Janice for the award that you have given me and the very nice words you said about me.  I am honored.  This is the second Kreativ Blogger Award I have been given.

Now I am supposed to answer 7 questions about me

1. What is my favorite song?   I have so many it is hard to choose one.  I will choose ‘Till I’m Too Old Too Die Young’ sung by Moe Bandy followed closely by ‘I Won’t Take Less Than Your Love’ with Paul Overstreet and Tanya Tucker.
2. What is my favorite dessert?  Homemade lemon meringue pie is my favorite.
3. What do I do when upset?  I usually call my sis in West Virginia and she listens to me cry and talk about it for however as long as it takes.  That is why sisters are so special.  They have known you all of your life and they love and understand you like no one else ever will.
4. What is my favorite pet?  I don’t have a pet but I appreciate the pets that my friends cherish.
5. Which do I prefer white or wheat bread?  I really prefer white bread but when my daughter is with me I feel obligated to buy wheat. 
6. What is my biggest fear?  My biggest fear was losing my husband to cancer.  That happened and I still have faith in God so I share my fears with Him.
7. What is my attitude mostly?  I try to have a positive attitude and greet each day with a big thank you.

10 random facts about me:

I have answered these so many different times through my blogging (7) years.  For my early blogging friends, just skip through these.

1. I would love to be able to sing but I can’t carry a tune in a bushel basket.
2. I  used to love to cook but it’s no fun anymore.
3. I had a long working career spanning almost 35 years, beginning with the telephone company and ending  in civil service at an AFB.
4. I have green eyes.
5. I met the love of my life in July, engaged in September and married in December.
6. I was born in Missouri.
7. So of course I am a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan.
8. I always wanted to be a beautician.
9. I get very emotional when I think of our troops in foreign countries.
10. I pray each day for peace on earth.

Tuesday and off again..

to another doctor appointment.  This one here in town so I can go by myself.

It is a beautiful morning checking in right now at 39 degrees.  It is to reach the upper 50s this afternoon,

Something is being done to my front yard yesterday and today.  I have no idea what.  I did notice the stuff they threw in the front yard last night cut a path into the new dirt and grass.  Still no leaf raking and I was told by one of the maintenance guys that the leaves are never raked here.  The corner house across the street is getting a new roof put on today.  My driveway has been really busy.

1. I was born in Missouri in a log cabin.
2. I grew up in Western Illinois.
3. I had 4 sisters and 3 brothers.  Only 2 are still living, a younger brother and a younger sister.
4. I married the love of my life, Jim.  We had 50 wonderful years together before he died in 2006.
5. I love people, I can usually find something to like about most people I meet.
6. I love living.
7. And most importantly of all, I have a great faith in God, that he will walk beside me and guide me in the right direction.

I had to stop typing this for awhile to go to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription.  Then I went on out to the K-Mart.  They have Joe Boxer flannel lounging  pants for guys on sale this week at a really good price.  I have been getting hints dropped in my ear that those would be a welcome Christmas gift.  Santa can rest easy now that I have that taken care of.  Speaking of Christmas gifts, I got a lot wrapped over the weekend while I was sitting around here feeling tough.

The weather is beyond beautiful,  Bright blue skies and temps to warm up into the 70s today.  Indian Summer has arrived.  I need to go outside today and see about filling in some of the dirt dug out around where I park my car (that is when I get my parking spot back).  There will be a drop off if I don’t.  Maybe if I can catch one of the concrete guys I can shame them into doing what they should have done when they took the boards off.

I need to get up and get busy.  I am working towards having a great week.  You all stay safe and be happy!!
