I am getting tired…

already of the election coverage.  I will be quite honest and say that I am disillusioned with our current administration and I am suspicious of the competition.  This will be a difficult election for me trying to decide.  I have never missed voting in a presidential election since I first registered to vote many years ago.  I have made it a point since I first started blogging that I don’t discuss politics or religion in my posts.  So that is as far as I am going with this topic.  Just sayin’, I am getting tired of political shenanigans.

Lovely cool day and I plan to enjoy it.  I have given instructions to any and all that might get in my car to not touch the windows.

Hope your day is a good one.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Are you as tired…

of this as I am?  The negative political ads are just flooding the air waves.  It is nothing to see 6 or 8  of them on each commercial break.  I have never seen such mean spiritedness in all of my voting lifetime.  I always make it a point to vote, otherwise how could I have the right to complain if I don’t?  I know none of these people that are running for office in this area except for the governor’s race.  They are so busy badmouthing each other that neither one speaks about the issues troubling Illinois.  Like the fact that we are bankrupt and our unemployment rate is among the highest in the nation.  Then there is the senate race to fill our prez’s old seat.  Burris turned around and ran from that one.  (Can’t say that I blame him) Each one trashing the other, one ad after another.  Kirk allegedly lied about his military record and supposed medals that he won in Iraq and Giannoulias is shown arm in arm with Blagojevich shouting from the rooftops, raise taxes, raise taxes.  What is a poor old gal to do??

My doctor visit went very well.  He was as sweet as pie to me and shook my hand 4 different times.  I think somehow in the last two months he has had an attitude adjustment.  Anyway, I won’t be seeing him anymore as my primary doctor will handle it from now on.  Open-mouthed smile

It is very windy and cold here today at 43 degrees right now.  A hard freeze in the mid to upper 20s is expected for tonight.  I have grocery shopped today so I am in good shape to just stay home tomorrow.  I probably won’t do that though as I tend to get antsy if I am stuck in the house all day.

I hope you are all geared up for a great weekend.  Stay safe and be happy.

Lone juror holdout…

The lone juror holdout in the Blagojevich trial has been identified as JoAnn Chiakulas a retired state employee.  I wondered who she was and what her reason was for voting for acquittal.  It seems that Ms Chiakulas determined early on that the wire tap recordings merely show a rambling Blagojevich, no one organized and ready to take action.  I admire this 67 year old woman for sticking to her conviction.  However, I am far from excited that the taxpayers of Illinois will have to pay for Blago’s defense lawyers in the retrial scheduled for January 2011.  And we all should bemoan the fact that because of this woman’s conviction we will all have to pay for the team of lawyers handling the prosecution’s case.  I was OK with Blagojevich’s brother having the charges against him dropped.  I do believe he got sucked into this mess because of family loyalty.

There, I have had my say on the politics of the day.  Since I started blogging over 5 years ago I have made it a policy never to discuss politics and or religion in my posts and I have pretty much stuck to this.

The weather is warming up for today and tomorrow should be in the low 90s.  I am hoping this is summer’s last hurrah and we won’t have excessive heat in September.

I am being lazy today and not doing too much.  I have enjoyed watching the geese in my back yard and noticing how big they are getting.

I am about to decide on purchasing an e book.  I haven’t decided which one yet.  I have been to the local library and it is huge, not at all like my little library at home so I am not exited about going there.  My brother has a new e book from Barnes and Noble and he loves it.  He is going to bring it with him when he comes to see me next month so he can help me make a decision.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  Stay safe and be happy.
