- My faith in God, He holds my hand when I need it.
- My family.
- My friends including my blogging family who has held me up in prayer so many times this year when I really needed it.
- I am thankful that I was eating at the Red Lobster in Peoria when the tornado struck. If I had been home I would have been in the kitchen as it was nearing lunchtime.
- Healthcare insurance. I have used it so much this year.
- Food on the table (too much sometimes)
- A roof over my head as many of my neighbors do not have a roof over their heads right now.
- A bright sunshiny day.
- My brain is still functioning properly.
- And last but not least, I am thankful that I was born and raised in the United States of America. I love my country!!

The day after…
and the mad rush is on from now until after Christmas. I am not doing much Christmas shopping this year. I am giving one nice gift to each person and that is it. Plus I have two birthdays to buy for, Dec 23rd and Dec 24th. I love Christmas time but this year I just don’t have the energy to go all out.
Thanksgiving day was lovely. I was invited to go with my daughter and son in law to my SIL’s brother’s wife’s brother for Thanksgiving at 12 noon. Sounds complicated but it really wasn’t. The host and hostess are lovely people. There was a huge crowd of people there; I counted 47 right before time to eat and several came in afterwards. Their home is beautiful with a full finished basement that my old house would almost have fit into. Awesome and the couple built it themselves. The food was really something. Ham. turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, at least a dozen casseroles, salads and relish trays and a whole counter full of hors d'oeuvres . The desserts were homemade blackberry pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, brownies, etc. I stuffed myself. The hostess even sent me home a small container of turkey and so I had the traditional turkey sandwich for my supper.
I will confess that today I am worn out. I have laundry to do but my neighbors two doors down beat me to the laundry room. So I guess I will have to wait on that.
I made an appointment for Monday morning to get the other repair work done on my car. I decided I don’t need a new car right now with winter coming on. We have a snow rain mixture predicted for Monday night.
I hope you all have a good weekend. Stay safe and be happy!!

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a family festival, which is celebrated with much enthusiasm and joy in many parts of the world, especially the countries of US and Canada. People express gratitude to God on this day, for all the valuable things they posses in life. Near and dear ones are also thanked for their love and support. Feasting with family and friends is a very important aspect of this festival. In fact, it is also the most delightful part of this festival. The entire family comes together to offer prayers to the Almighty, before the Thanksgiving dinner and show their appreciation. Given below is a soulful prayer to be offered in honor of God.
Thanksgiving
By Ralph Waldo Emerson
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

I hope you all have a truly blessed Thanksgiving.
Stay safe and be happy!!

Another one of those days…
rainy with the temp checking in at 54 degrees to be dropping all afternoon with the rain turning to light snow. I am not ready for this!! Winter go away.
I made it to the K-Mart this morning. And, yes, you guessed it, I brought some more things for Christmas. I keep saying I am done and then I turn right around and buy something else. I need somebody to stop me. LOL I still have 2 birthday presents to buy, one Dec 23 and the other Dec 24. I think those will be money as they are both hard to buy for.
Thanksgiving was very nice. I enjoyed the time spent with my son in law’s family. Several little kids there this year, so that was nice. The food was delicious.

Not much else to write about today. I hope you all are enjoying a peaceful weekend. Stay safe and be happy!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I will try to get a quick post on here. My internet service has been up and down all day yesterday. I had my modem reset 4 times yesterday and when I turned the computer off last night the internet was down again. I am having a service call tomorrow evening. Very aggravating.
I was reading in the paper this morning the many things that readers had written in that they were thankful for. Really made me feel small when I read some of them. I have many things to be thankful for!
I am thankful for my family, for the love and devotion they show me. I am especially thankful for my sis Rae and her husband who will stay on the telephone for however long it takes to get me cheered up. I am thankful for each new day that the good Lord grants me. I am thankful for all of you, my blogging family, all around the world who support me in thought and prayer. Bless you all and a special thanks to my Twin who has been my friend for over 6 years now.

Happy Thanksgiving…
Are the pumpkin pies ready? Is the turkey cooked? Cranberry sauce anyone? I fixed a Thanksgiving meal for my daughter and son in law last weekend. Tomorrow I am going with them to my SIL’s brother’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. All I have to take is hot rolls. I can do that.
Things I have to be thankful for:
1. My family
2. My friends (to include all of my wonderful blog family)
3. My health
4. Last but not least and what sustains me and keeps me going, My faith in God.
I have many more things I am thankful for. Each day I am able to get out of bed I thank God. I am so thankful for our military troops keeping our great country free. On a frivolous note I am thankful that Bristol did not win on DWTS last night. What a travesty that has been.I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We asked for rain…
and we got rain. It rained Friday night, Saturday morning, stopped for a bit in the afternoon, then started up again last night. It was still raining when I got up this morning. It has cleared off a bit right now but is to start raining again this afternoon. I now have a clean car. Hooray!! This is the first rain except for sprinkles that we have had for several weeks.
Yesterday morning I made my way out in the pouring rain to Bergners where I purchased some new sweatshirts for winter. My clothes are all way to big for me and I have started cleaning out my closet and taking things to Good Will. While at Bergners I made a donation to the county humane society. My daughter smiles at me because I give to all of the local causes. Just a couple of weeks ago I paid $15 for a tiny can of popcorn to benefit the Boy Scouts. She is forgetting that when she and her brother were young how many times we went door to door selling stuff for school or scouting benefits. I was a den mother for my daughter when she was in scouts and I remember how hard it was to get anyone to give a donation.
My chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans was a hit with my daughter and SIL as they came over and ate with me. My daughter’s friend had given her a sack of apples from her tree and I made a raw apple cake too. Everything was really good. Like an early Thanksgiving meal minus the pumpkin pie. Speaking of Thanksgiving, the river boat a few miles up the road from me is having a Thanksgiving buffet. If my son is able to come for Thanksgiving we will all go there for the noon meal.
Hey, while I have been typing this, the sun has come out for a little while and it looks so pretty and bright outside after the rain cleaned everything off.
I hope you are all having a great day. We have all been given another day so let’s make the most of it.
