to my mom. She has been gone a very long time. I still miss her and I always will!
This is the picture that was in the newspaper for my mom and dad’s 45th wedding anniversary. I took this from the newspaper article. I am not sure which one of my siblings has the original picture. I know that I don’t have it.
Thanks to my kids for remembering me with cards and gifts, chocolates, cake, etc! I love you guys.

I was treated to Red Lobster yesterday by my daughter and son in law. It was great. I had breaded shrimp, crispy red potatoes and Caesar Salad. (I hope I spelled that right,) And of course the Cheddar Bay Biscuits which were piping hot and delicious. Then we came back to my place where we had some of the lovely cake and coffee. It was delicious.

My mother has been gone for a very long time now. I miss her a lot. She had a lot to deal with, 8 children plus health problems. I miss her each day of the year but it really hits home as Mother’s Day draws near.
My daughter and son-in-law are taking me to Red Lobster to eat today for Mother’s day. This is my favorite place to eat. I love the shrimp there, so I always have some version of it.
My daughter got me a beautiful little cake for Mother’s Day. It is frosted angel food which is my favorite cake next to pineapple upside down cake. It has a heart shaped cookie on top with mom written on the cookie.
My son sent me a beautiful card and will call. It is such a privilege to be a mother.
Don’t forget to hug your mother tomorrow and tell her you love her. Rejoice if you are still lucky enough to have her with you.

Mother’s Day present. My daughter and son in law took me to the Red Lobster in Peoria for lunch today. We all had the shrimp spectacular promotion. Awesome!! Potato breaded and hand breaded shrimp is what I had with coleslaw and baked potato and of course the cheese biscuits which I ate 3 of. My daughter gave me a lovely card and baked a cake for me. I also received a beautiful card from my son. My daughter has to work tomorrow, thus the early day presents.
Just a boot skip and a holler up the road from me is this fascinating little town called Creve Coeur. The funny thing about where I live is one little town after another until you cross the bridge over the Illinois River and you are in Peoria. But, back to Creve Coeur, I have been noticing this little restaurant tucked off to the side of the road and for a long time I wanted to take a picture of it. It is a quaint little country type restaurant and the name is what got me. It is almost exactly the same as my WV sis’s name except for one letter.
My son in law was kind enough to turn the car around and take me back so I could get a pic of it to send to Rae.
The picture below is kind of spoiled because I am in it but my sis will like it. lol
It poured down rain in Peoria and I am all bundled up for the weather.

Look at the sunshine. And it is lovely here today. It is 50 degrees right now to reach the upper 60s today. Then for the next few days we are to reach the upper 70s –80s. We had a thunderstorm last night and a little bit of rain.
If I still had my driveway behind the garage I would be out cleaning my car up, and I may do that anyway. Water is the only thing I don’t have to pay for here, however no hoses or sprinklers are allowed. I did a decent job of washing my car the old fashioned way a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed the workout. So I will be off after a bit hunting my floppy hat and rubber gloves.
Other than that, not much else doing here today. I am hungry for spaghetti with meat sauce so I think I will fix that today. I bought some Texas Toast with cheese coating at the store yesterday so I will fix a couple pieces of that to go with it.
My daughter brought me over a beautiful bouquet yesterday for Mother’s Day. It is lovely and the fragrance is filling the room.
