It’s Thursday…

in Central Illinois and I am up bright and early.  Awake at 5 AM, so I just got up.  Company coming today, but just for lunch.  Well actually family, as my brother and sister-in-law are on the way from the St Louis area.  Not to stay all night as originally planned, but to have lunch and then get on the road to Northern Illinois before the predicted winter storm hits.  They wanted to take me out to lunch, but I have cooked a turkey and we will have the regular Thanksgiving type meal.  This is because I had that other turkey I bought before Thanksgiving taking up all of the room in my freezer.  Hey, that is another thing I miss from my old home, a separate freezer.  I do miss the garage and washer and dryer more though.  Not complaining, just reminiscing.  Winking smile

Today is my son-in-law’s birthday.  Happy Birthday Mike.  Soon you will catch up with me as I get younger each year and you get older each year.  Mike is recuperating well from his knee surgery and is about to wind up his therapy.

And now back to the weather.  It is 23 degrees F right now.  We do have a winter storm advisory out for tonight with 3 – 5 inches of snow predicted.  Looking for my ship to come in so I can have a home in the south for the winter and back home to the Illinois heat and humidity in the summer.

I do want to take a moment again to remember our troops stationed all around the world looking out for our safety.  May God Bless you all.  I wish you all could be home with your families for Christmas.  My constant prayer is for peace on earth!

Guess I better get busy with the fixings that go along with the turkey.  Love that stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy.  That is the best part.

Red heart  Beth

  4. Have a wonderful visit with your family. Don't let them over eat as they maybe too tired to drive from turkey. Least that's what happens to me. I have to get to the store yet this morning before it snows or something. Have a Merry Christmas!

  8. I have to admit I've grown to appreciate appliances you're talking about not to mention a garage...I don't know what on earth I'd do without them though I guess in retrospect I've done without them for periods of time. I hope your meal goes wonderfully, I can understand the rush with the storms coming up. Bless you my friend! Merry Christmas!

  10. Hi Beth,
Hope your visit will be enjoyable and again a very happy christmas - you are going to have a white christmas like us? I thank god, that He has helped me with my fear of the slippery roads and I have been out and about. Today at the town was maniac, pushing shoving and frayed tempers. So not what Christmas is really about. Be Happy, love and hugs - Nita - P.S. My blog updates do not seem to be appearing in the newsfeed today for some reason.

  12. Beth what sold me on my present living quarters, besides the extremely reasonable rent, was that I had a washer dryer hook-up.
Enjoy the time with your family Beth.
It looks like we around here are in for a good snowstorm Sunday night. About a foot. I'm off Sunday and Monday. WOO HOO!
Merry Christmas Beth! You're the best!
