The first Monday…

of a brand new year.  It is a bright sunny day with the temperature hovering at 23 degrees F.  It is not supposed to get much warmer than that.  At least there is no snow on the ground now and none in sight for the next few days.  That is good news.
Recapping the last few days.  New Year’s Eve, bedtime at 10 PM.  I figured the New Year would arrive without me watching for it, and it did.  New Year’s Day I went with my daughter and son in law to Applebees  to eat.  That was fun and I didn’t have to cook.
Thanks to a Christmas gift from my niece in WV I am awaiting a gift package from Omaha Steaks.  This meant I had to clean out my freezer.  Hopefully the boxes will fit in there OK.  If not I will be having a feast right away.  The package is supposed to arrive in the next day or two.  This also means I have to stick pretty close to home.
I am in the process of changing my recipe space from wordpress over to Blogger.  When I get it all finished I will let you know.   Right now I am liking the looks of it, so much nicer looking than wordpress.  So far I have moved over 100 recipes with quite a lot more to do.  Bringing back lots of good memories for me, even remembering Jim’s favorite song, “You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone.”  He used to kid with me all of the time about that song.  And you know what, he was right, I do miss him.
Time to get back to moving recipes.  I hope this week is a good one for us all.  Stay safe and be happy!

  1. I tend to agree with you.. so much more you can do with blogger than wordpress. Can't wait to see what it looks like.Moving things is such a time consuming thing.. but glad you will have a place to view those wonderful ones you have. QUESTION.. are you going to keep the wordpress one anyway as a backup? The new year is 3 days old and you are working already.. send me some of your energy okay? LOL : )

  6. My Eve was the same as yours, bliss actually. Quiet, 2 sweet furry cats and me. Loved it.
I saw your recipes moving like crazy! Funny thing was, so many I saw and said, "hey, I make that!" Oh yes, 50's and 60's had the best yummy foods, didn't they :D
Those steaks sound mighty, mighty good. I'm assuming you're having a bbq for all of us?
Yes, I know you miss Jim :( The missing never goes away, but you know what? I shows what a great man he was to have been loved SO extra much.
Well, shortly I need to get back to taking all the Christmas stuff down and packing it away, so I better get a move on.
    XOXOXO

  10. Hi Beth,

Things have been hectic but happy, mostly, here. New Year's Eve was a late one, spent at church, fellowship followed by prayer and short service at 11.30 into New Year, which was lovely. When I got home about 1 a.m. there was a full scale party going on in my block which lasted until about 4.30.a.m. so, not much sleep at all that night. Still a bit blurry eyed. My main computer, has gone awry, hard drive, disc completely wiped clean - lost everything, that was not backed up by disc. Friend from church, is hopefully, restoring and resetting for us, whatever that means. take care _ Hugs - Nita

  12. Sounds like a wonderful gift. Was quiet around here on New Year's eve. It happens whether we're awake or not.
