I took a picture through the top of my kitchen window a few minutes ago. I couldn’t get my front door open because of the snow.
Looking out my back door.

The cookies yesterday were delicious and being here alone and in an anxious state I managed to scarf down quite a few. I love this recipe. It is on both of my recipe sites.
Dried Cherry Oatmeal Cookies
by Beth Marie in Cookies
A recipe from cooks.com
1 1/4 c. butter, softened
1 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. quick or old fashioned uncooked oatmeal
1 c. dried cherries
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. In a bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; add to creamed butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oatmeal and dried cherries.
Drop by a rounded tablespoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-11 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, then remove. Makes 5 1/2-6 dozen cookies.
When I make these cookies I only get around 3 dozen as I make huge cookies.
Time for me to see about some breakfast. I will catch you all later.
Beth
Glad the snow is winding down for you. Thanks for the recipe on my blog, wish I had some made already....yum
ReplyDeletedown here in Texas we're having "rolling blackouts" for 15 mins at a time. Guess the power company thinks this will help reduce the load. I've reset the clocks 3 times until my husband called and told me what's going on...so no more setting the clocks until this cold is gone! I don't dare bake your yummy cookies cuz the oven is electric.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the storm is winding down Beth quite scary. Cookies oh lovely sounds delish , take care Hugs Sheilax
ReplyDeleteWhew, good to hear from you and know you're ok. Wow, thunder snow! In that first picture, is that car showing some running lights on, or is that just your flash? If it's a running light, someone must be crazy to try and go out in that.
ReplyDeleteIf you posted, that means you have power, too. Great news on that and I know you're glad.
I probably shouldn't tell you what the temp is here, but I will. 63, yep, 63 and it's morning. Supposed to go to 70 or so but tomorrow is back down to the 30's.
XOXOXO
I got food - made a big hearty stew - got DVDs to watch and books to settle in by the fire with - and so far we got 2 inches of snow. What a gyp!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of such snow storms but I can't quite imagine it. It's 25 below zero here with an awful wind. It's supposed to be forties as of tomorrow which blesses me a lot! No snow for the most part here. For the first time I'm feeling glad to be in Montana in the winter compared with what so many are suffering with right now...imagine that.
ReplyDeleteGlad you've survived the storm. Thunder snow just doesn't seem right, although I have heard it. We've been cold today with our high at 27. Big change from 54 degrees yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly understand what you're going through Beth. And yes we have more snow on the way here. Keep this in mind, spring training is only a few weeks away. It doesn't help with the snow but it is a sign to keep in mind. Spring is right around the corner... spring is right around the corner...spring is right around the corner...
ReplyDeleteHow in the world I missed this I have no idea. I never saw it in my dashboard. :-(
ReplyDeleteYupper, you and Paul and Sis have been thru and thru the wringer!
