Justice Samuel Alito, I applaud you!

My heart was heavy yesterday when I learned of the outcome of a Supreme Court case, a consideration of protests at military funerals.  The Court voted with an 8 – 1 decision which they said falls squarely on the First Amendment.  This means that anti-gay funeral protests will continue to be allowed.  This sickens me.  Our brave men and women in the military are fighting and dying on foreign soil to protect countries that don’t even want us there.  Fighting for us here at home, and yes to protect our freedom of speech, however I, for the life of, me can’t understand how the first amendment can allow protestors to picket at the funeral of a fallen soldier.  The Westboro Baptist Church evidently (my opinion) doesn’t have a Christian among their members!  Surely God is looking down on these protestors and shaking His head in sorrow.

I am just home from a fasting lab which required 4 tubes of blood.  My niece went with me and we went to Bob Evans afterward for breakfast.  Next Thursday is my doctor appointment for the results.  Not looking forward to that.

I need to go out and run some errands so I will catch you all later.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Red heart  Beth

  3. I agree Beth. I don't think that church is about being a good christian at all and doesn't know the meaning of the word. Our military protects them as well and that's how they thank them. Unforgivable in my book.
I had a doc app for today but I changed it. Didn't feel like going lol.
Have a great day now ya hear!

  4. I too am sad at the outcome of this kind of behavior. People have forgotten what the word "compassion" means. It seems to be all about our rights and the heck with whether we should do something or not. I support our freedom to express ourselves, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. It's all so sad...

  5. It seems to me that with the signs that said 'God hates America, maybe they need to move to the middle east.
    Not Christian at all.
I hope the blood work is good.
It seems that my blood work got lost at the hospital, a crock I think.

  6. I read about that church leader and his kids say he was alway a hateful man. How anyone could follow a person like that just blows my mind. I agree with Great Granny. Ship them out. I too say 'Hats of to Alito'.

  7. I for one am happy our right to free speech was protected. However I feel the police should arrest those picketers for disturbance, harassment. What's with the so many feet away. I cannot believe the Baptist don't speak up publicly!!!!!! This church is NOT Baptist!
Sorry I ranted. Your in my prayers everything will be alright with your tests.

  8. Hi Beth,

I have quite a bruise on my arm from my blood tests, it didn't and doesn't hurt however. I do hope your results are good, that is always the worst part waiting for those isn't it? Hugs Nita

  9. I respect their decision and not messing with our freedom of speech, but it's saying it's okay to be a bully. I'm a strong believer in what goes around, comes around. Their day will come.

  10. Boy Beth, You and Toodie have given me ideas for a blog. I found it very disturbing watching those protesters. Those slugs are able to protest because our young people fighting, whether you agree with the war or not, and dying to maintain their right to protest.

  11. I saw that decision and was stunned...no prayer in schools but we can allow things like that under the guise of freedom of speech? My goodness we've come a long way. I pray that your doctor results pleasantly surprise you. God bless you my friend.

  12. Thank you for visiting my blog. :)

I've always heard that some Christians are the harshest judges, and after seeing a lot of the things that go on, sadly, I'd have to agree.

Best of luck for your doctor results!

  13. This decision took me by surprise. A funeral is a private gathering and they should stay away. I'm very saddened to see the changes happening in this country.
I wish you the very best for your test results. It's always hard to wait.

If you want some seeds, I'd be happy to send you some.

  14. I missed this blog, Beth, and I agree with you No matter the what a person's choice in this life, the fallen soldier fought for his country and deserves to be honoured in death not shown hatred and abuse.
I do hope your tests results are ok, my friend...
Take care and bye for now...xx
