Move over Danica…
You have competition in the defensive driving arena. I think I could probably beat you on an obstacle course filled with pot holes from my city. It is quite a chore just to navigate around town. I have gotten pretty good on my comfort zone routes at missing the pot holes. I know turning into the Kroger parking lot there is a gigantic hole on the right. As you come out at the first stop sign is another gigantic hole on the left. Forget missing the pot holes as you are going to the credit union. The road is thick with them and it takes a lot of maneuvering to miss them all.
Well, ‘enuff said about that. It is Monday morning and time to start a brand new work week. That is if you were still working which I am not as I have been retired for a long time which is not all it is cracked up to be let me tell you. Sometimes the days are very long, even though I am a lot busier than I was before I moved here…
I have a lot of things to do today that will keep me busy. First by the rental office to sign a lease for another year. I can’t believe another year has come and gone. Then to mail some letters, then to pick up my daughter , then out to Menards to see if I can get some stand alone shelving for my utility room. Then to the bank. By that time it will probably be time for lunch and you know what that means.
COUNTDOWN TO SPRING as I am typing this is 13 days, 9 hours, 48 minutes and 30 seconds. I am so longing for a sunny 70 degree day.
Beth
13 days til Spring.. I bet it gets delayed here by about two months for sure.. this has been such a long terrible winter.. I look so forward to it leaving for good soon! A whole year there my how time FLIES by! Take care Sis..
ReplyDeleteIt's cloudy and cold here, maybe winter won't last like I've seen in the past, even into Springtime months.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteWe have a number of those potholes here too. Still enjoying your countdown to spring. It has been bright and sunny here today, but cold. But it was still light at 6 p.m. and that is good, very good. Take Care - Hugs - Nita
Those pot holes can sure do damage to a vehicle. Glad you know where they are are your turf. You know the nice weather is round the corner. Stay on the sunnyside!
ReplyDeleteWe having the calender in Autumn time it seems skipped the summer time?
ReplyDeleteIt is nice hear that you are keeping busy yourself
without going to see the doctors:-)
Thank you for visits and encouraging my space.
Take care,
This time of year the pot holes seem to multiply like bunnies. I sure am waiting for spring. Love the countdown, it just doesn't seem to go fast enough for me.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it's already been a year since you moved. Time sure flies.
ReplyDeleteYou sure are right about the retirement bit! Not enough hours in the day since I dont HAVE to do anything special. I wish I could figure out who was responsible for that bit if false advertising.
Wait.....DEfensive driving??? Are you sure??? No wonder all those people wave at me with one finger....if they manage to climb out of the ditch before I'm out of sight.
Our city spent over $350,000 over what they had to keep the snow off the streets so far this year so I guess that's why the roads here are in the worst shape I've ever seen them...no money left to manage such things...it's going to get ugly if things go on for too long at this rate. I have to smile at Chip's definition of defensive driving! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya about the pot holes. There was one that snuck up on me and my car went right in. Blessings, Joanne
ReplyDeleteHi beth....

Nice to see your Spring count down Beth. It is hard to believe it has been a whole year since you moved. Wow! Time sure fly's. Those potholes sound nasty. Be careful, as they have a way of sneeking up on you when your not looking.
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week.
Dianne :) Oh, and I enjoyed your slide show with all the Spring Flowers.
Ah yes..Spring. no time at all before we will be enjoying that and the sneezing and watery eyes. But that beats snow and frigid temps.
ReplyDeleteWe have pot holes aplenty too. Not as bad as yours though.
I can't believe you've been gone a year either! Time is on rocket sleds or something!
xoxox
Pot Holes in abundance here but they are being worked on thank goodness. A year since you moved it has certainly sailed by Beth, Hugs Sheilax
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, looks like potholes are like an epidemic that starts in one corner of the world and before we know it they've traveled all round the globe, it seems every time they get them sorted, it's winter again and poof, up they pop like mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the ride with you.LOL
I know what you mean about the pot holes. This winter has done a real number on the roads.
ReplyDeleteOne year. Boy and they pass quicker all the time.
Time has flown past, Beth, hard to think it has been a year... and please keep avoiding those potholes, I don't want to read of any accidents happening to you.
ReplyDeleteHappy wishes to you, and I was just going to type that the sun was shining, and now the skies gone all dark, are you sure Springs on the way? Honest? ;-) xPenx
Oh yes... pot-holes. They're absolutely everywhere. They must have used the cheapest paving material ever to build the roads here, and when the time comes that they finally decide to "fix" the huge holes in any given road, the whole area is out of commission for several days. Then tada! It's fixed! See, there's a huge metal plate covering the hole! We drilled it into the road! I's several inches above the rest of the road, so when you drive over it you'll bounce up in your seat and your car will make a loud clanging sound! Isn't it wonderful. Yes, glad my hard earned tax paying dollars is being spent on ????
ReplyDeleteWe all just want to get to our destination safely, our tires gets damaged and it can get us upset. A smooth safe drive is that too much to ask?
