What??

You just told me it was Wednesday.  I guess I have to believe you although I hate too.  Precious life is slipping away.  The days blend, one right into the other.

The reason I lost track of time was because yesterday I cleaned all day long.  I started after breakfast and finished up at suppertime.  One reason it takes so long is my back that hollers at me to sit down and take a rest every few minutes.  I moved everything around in the kitchen and mopped.  That is no small chore as the table and chairs are very heavy.  Hey, I will put that on my list of things along with a washer and dryer and a garage.  I would like a dining room and maid service.  Now. mind you, I don’t want maid service like my Tennessee Twin had.  Tennessee Twin, hey, I like the sound of that; I think there is the making of a good old country song in that title.

Then from the kitchen I moved on through the house, taking time out at 11AM to watch my fave, The Young and the Restless.  That show is so mixed up now.  I don’t think the writers have a clue where they are going with the story.  To make a long story short; I finally finished cleaning.

This morning I am getting my hair cut and doing a little shopping.  Then I don’t plan on doing anything the rest of the day.

I am still in the sorting of old pictures.  I started this 3 years ago and I am not finished yet.  I go in spurts and then I fizzle out.

I have lots of newly discovered first cousins in Missouri and an undiscovered (until recently) aunt in Michigan.  You see my daddy’s younger brother was married 5 times and there are children from each marriage, plus I am finding out all about the rest of my dad’s family too.  This all started from my putting my dad’s full name in Google.  There on a genealogical site I found a relative searching for info on my grandfather on my dad’s side.  The aunt in Michigan is my dad’s step-sister.  Her name is Marie and I was always told as a child that I was named after my dad’s sister.  Thanks to my cousin Bryce for getting me updated.

This is my Aunt Marie.  In the picture with her is her granddaughter and her husband.  Aunt Marie is 90 years old and in a nursing home in Michigan.  We have been corresponding the old fashioned snail way and she sent me this lovely picture in a letter.

Gotta run now as my hair appointment is early and I haven’t had breakfast yet.  You all stay safe and be happy!!

Red heart  Beth

  1. Wow lady, you should bottle that drive. Just the thought of all that cleaning makes most people cringe, lol. I hear on the sorting pictures. I have started and stopped so many times I've lost count. Nice to find relatives and more about family thought, isn't it. Have a good day.

  3. Wow, you found your relatives from a Google search?! Wish it was that easy. I have a small family and since I was adopted, don't know any biological family (which could be out there). Have a great day and don't try to do too much. Enjoy that soap (Y$R)as it looks like they are all fading into the sunset...

  6. It's wash day here. Yesterday, I rearranged the living-room again. And moved the bed back like it was, thinking Kassey might sleep better.
I have sliders under my furniture so it's easier.

  7. I like a good clean up day, it doesn't happen too often, not in summer anyhow, as I prefer to be out in the garden, but when i get the notion, like you did, it is well and truly blitzed. I sorted out all my photos last year, bought some swish new albums and put them into order,, a good job done. Your Aunt looks good for 90. I haven't got the heart to do a family check, as like Sue L I was adopted, but |I have only got a Mum to search back on. Take care of that back, give the h'work a break now.

  8. I hope the hair appointment went okay. My mum does a lot of research in to our family history, it seems to be something that never ends as she has been doing it for years.

  9. Oh Beth if I could only muster the energy to spend a day to just go through my house as you did. I need a vacation.

I should check out my family tree. As far as I know my sisters and I are the only members of my family in this country.

  10. Sis..maybe some of those slider things on the bottom of the chairs would help. I use them and they work wonderful on heavy furniture. Sure beats struggling with stuff. Hope you have a wonderful safe holiday weekend. : )

  11. Beth, geneology is fun isn't it. I have even found cousins on Facebook that I knew when growing up, and lost through the years. The Young and the Restless was my only and very enhoyable soap. But I quit when my Jim retired. My hair appointment for cut and perm is Friday. Tomorrow a friend and I are going shopping at a new Cosco that has a restaurant and gasoline. Should be fun. Nice Post. I typed out what you put up and Word Press still won't accept me.

  12. My relatives seem pretty sparse as far as FB is concerned but on occasion I run across someone that surprises me. I know what you mean about time slipping away too. Mostly for me it's watching my kids grow up right in front of me and I find myself asking what happened? The summer seems like it crashed to an end today with highs tomorrow not breaking the sixties...so they say anyway. We are creeping up on another Friday too...how in the world does that happen?

  14. Beth God bless you! You do have enough energy to bottle up and sell! I love that! You inspire me to go go go!
Great post. So glad that you are getting to know extended family. My friend just had the same experience and wow the info she found out is incredible!
    Blessings, Joanne
