I had the opportunity to speak to several friends at home yesterday, all saddened by the news of our friend’s passing. I am so very grateful to you all for the comments left on my blog yesterday.
Sunday was a wonderful day spent with family. My son and daughter and son in law were here for food and laughter.I sent the leftover food home with my son. I cleaned out the freezer too and so today I had to go to the store to restock the TV dinners. My son brought me a box of the homemade chocolates that I love and a card that plays Rock Around the Clock for my birthday which is next Sunday. The day I celebrate with my Tennessee Twin.

Today would have been Jim’s birthday. For Jim:
I thought of you today
But that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday,
And the days before that too.
I think of you in silence,
I often speak your name.
I know all I have is memories,
And your picture in a frame,
My memory is my keepsake,
With which I will never part,
God has you in His keeping,
I have you in my heart.
Below is one of my favorite pictures of the two of us taken a blue moon ago. Miss you Jim!!

He was a wonderful person, our Jim. Love Ya Me
ReplyDeleteWhat a loving and poignant poem to the man you love and miss. If anyone will be able to empathize with your friend losing her husband, Bill, it will be you.
ReplyDeleteSounds like both happy and sad days. Family and good friends are priceless. Glad to hear you have both laughter and tears. You need them both. Especially the laughter. :)
What a Handsome guy! I'm sure he still feels the love you have for him. And I know he still loves you! God bless you Beth. I can only imagine how hard it must be.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
That really is a wonderful picture my friend. I can sense your love for him emanating from every word you type. It is a real encouragement to see that. Bless you.

Great picture and tribute to Jim.
Hugs Nita
I so enjoyed the tribute poem to Jim that you wrote only for him. I feel priveleged to be a part of yours and his love through your marriage, in this way. The best thing is..he knew you loved him deeply and that's what made him strong. And he loved you too...that's what makes you who you are.

How lovely to remember your darling husband with such a beautiful poem. Life can be so cruel and unfair. Sorrow is such a lonely emotion.
