Believe it or not…

Last year the leaves were never raked and I had leaves up to the door jam when I opened either the front or back door last winter.  If you click on the pictures you will see what the bright sun did to them.  Anyway, I am glad it is done because I had to actually use the snow shovel last winter to clear the leaves away from my doors.

It is a bright sunny day in the heart of Illinois.  the temp is 34 degrees.  I have been to the post office and to Kroger.  Crowds both places.  I mailed my overseas Christmas cards and a few that I had ready here.  I have quite a few more to do but I will get to them over the weekend.  I have one more doctor appointment tomorrow and then no more until the 16th, 22nd, and 30th of December.  I am on yet different meds and I am praying I don’t get any side effects from them.

I need to get busy on house cleaning and perhaps I will do that over the weekend.  Maybe my TN Twin will fly up here and give me a hand.  I am deciding how much of my Christmas decorations to get out.  I don’t have the room here that I had in my house.

I hope you all are having a good week.  Stay safe and be happy!

Beth

  5. Re the deleted comment: I must still be half doped up from those terrible meds because I had your blog and your twin's open at the same time and somehow managed to post my comment for her blog on your post! DOH!

I usually let Mother nature take care of my leaf raking in the hope that all of our leaves will blow into the jerk across the street's yard. If that doesn't work I fire up the mulching mower and run over them. It's not as satisfying as watching the jerk rake but it is good for the lawn.

  6. Bill doesn't rake leaves here, he mows them. I must say, it's a lot easier. I'm thinking about putting our Christmas decorations up this weekend. Maybe I can get the kids to help me! I hope so. Keeping my fingers crossed that this med does the trick for you. Take care.

  13. Enjoy the Christmas season, Beth. I can imagine your home decorated and nice sweet aromas of baking. I have been ill for 5 weeks so am just starting to get around again, but Jim is ill now. It was a mean long lasting bug. Anyway I am hoping I can get a bit of decoration out in the next day or so. I helped a friend make decorations today that her cats can't hurt. And I returned to choir rehearsal tonight so things are improving. Be well with those new meds with no side effects this time. Bertieblue

  15. Pulled down the bag from the rafter shelf containing James' winter and holiday attire. It's amazing how much dust grows up there in a year! Thinking about making him a new holiday scarf. 20° here this morning and sun is out! Great day! Hope you will feel fine in the days to come.

  16. You're lucky the leaves were blown away from your place. I hope whoever did it---picked them up as well---so they don't blow back! Here we have to rake them up---the blower doesn't hold a candle to the wind itself! Great that you are able to get out and about this holiday season. Enjoy all the lights and spirit of the season---wish it could last all year long (like it should!). Have a great day and know that you are blest.

  17. I'm pretty bad about Christmas cards and such. If my wife doesn't do them...I never would but on the bright side I got our Christmas stuff up record early this year so perhaps I won't get a lump of coal in my stocking! I also did sweep out our patio from all the leaves that fell before we got our first good snow storm...now it can just bring it on!

  18. Hi Beth I do hope you don't any side effects from your meds. Those leaves I have swept and swept they are just about everywhere. I think at last the tree's out front have stopped falling. I pulled out my little red Christmas tree , which just needs plugging in Yay! Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx

  19. Makes for quick clean-up. Don't laugh but I use our leave blower for clearing the snow off the deck if there is not to much and it is light stuff. Woooosh and it all goes flying off. So beats brooming or shoveling it off.
