and raining with the temp hovering at 36 degrees. Some areas close by here may get some snow out of this but hopefully only a little sleet and rain here.
The cookie exchange last night was fun. Liz is such an excellent hostess. In addition to the cookie exchange we each got a lovely hostess gift.
Inside, a mini bottle of hand lotion and on the back, this verse.
“Every friend is like a snowflake, unique in beauty and design.
Each sparkles in a different way…some are playful, some refined.
But, unlike fragile snowflakes that fade when the sun appears,
Friends grow even more beautiful with every passing year.”
And a quote from Carl Reiner ~ “A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.” I really like that quote. My feelings exactly.
My haul from the cookie exchange.
I have added to the plate of chocolate covered cherries as I am getting ready to divide all of this stuff into trays to start delivering. I am heading out to the trunk of my car to get the rest of the goodies. Of course I will save some for my son.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and the sun is shining wherever you may be, at least in your heart. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Sis those goodies look wonderful, some great bakers there. Love the way those cherries look..wish I had that talent too. Green here no white and I like it..guess I consider myself Lucky!! Hope the ice stays away and the rest of the week goes well.. take care
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time. Enjoy the goodies!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here either and it suits me just fine. Chocolate Covered Cherries are my favorite. I already had one box and at them all (head hangig sheepishly with big smile).
ReplyDeleteThat's some festive eatin' you've got going on there! We are planning sort of a different set of things on the menu this year. It's no problem for me with my wife being from another country where I've spent more than one Christmas. I like to change things up and this looks like a year for it!
ReplyDeleteGOOD stuff, Twin. Wish I had some. Wish I had it all, actually.

What a fun thing to do! I'm loving all your loot!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the card, it went on top of the my card tree :).
Hope you're having a fab day!!
What a good haul. I would definitely eat those.
ReplyDeleteYum yum and double yum! What a sweet tradition! I LOVE chocolate covered cherries too!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
Beth I don't know if I can survive this cookie onslaught!.
ReplyDeleteNow I for sure want cookies! Yummers!
ReplyDeleteOh yummm. They sure do look good.
ReplyDeleteNice post, Beth. It all sounds so nice and Christmasy. I hope yours is all very special. Hugs. Bertieblue
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute gift!! Love the poem. And the cookies look great. Boy! Some people had some fancy packaging. But the cookies still taste the same no matter how they are packaged. You inspired me to start a batch of butterballs. We made them every year when I was a kid and I made them every year when my son was little. Hope I haven't lost the knack--LOL! ;) Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteThe gift and cookies look so good, I love the quote about the snow.
Wishing you a Happy Joyful Christmas and a New Year full of unexpected blessings.
Hugs Nita
