The rain is pouring down and it is 45 degrees. Since 1 inch of rain equals 12 inches of snow http://answers.ask.com/Science/Nature/how_much_snow_equals_one_inch_of_rain I profoundly state that I am glad it is raining and not snowing. In fact I could do very nicely with no snow at all this winter.
Yesterday was a lovely day though. I went with my daughter to Kohls, Bass Pro Shop (where I finally found that one last elusive present), Sears and Macys. Then we had lunch at Red Lobster. It was all in all a very nice day although very tiring for me. East Peoria has a brand new very large Bass Pro Shop. Geared mostly to men but it is interesting.
Now what do I do today? A rainy day is not a day for cleaning and that is a big fact! I was able to catch my mail lady yesterday to give her a card, money and goodies. You can set your watch by her. My mail is delivered precisely between 1:50 PM and 2PM. When she has a day off the mail may not arrive until as late as 5:30PM.
Nothing else new to report here today. This is a little update so I don’t miss any days of blogging this month. You all stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Like you, I much prefer rain over snow. As long as it doesn't freeze that is. It's raining here too but it's not pouring.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday. I still have some shopping to do as I got a late start. I blame that on Brody lol.
What a nice day you had. Always nice to get that last present. Hopefully I can by the end of thew week. We used to have a pretty regular mail drop, but now it can be any time from 11 to 3.
ReplyDeletePoor Brody, always gets the blame, lol.
Nice you got rain..we do too and I, like you am extremely grateful because it makes our winter be a lot shorter...I HOPE! Our mailperson was divided into 5 people and we got mail all times of the day so I know how nice it is to have a person right on time. Not many workers are appreciated these days for a job well done. Hope you are staying well these winter days..take care
ReplyDeleteXXOO
Glad you had a day out shopping with your daughter. I sometimes forget all those stores you mention. I never seen though the bass Pro thingie. We just have WalMart and few small stores or the DG. I don't seem to mind anymore as I don't spend money I don't have ;-/
ReplyDeleteGood to have a shop with your daughter Beth. Wet, cold, sleet and Windy to boot here. Thank you so much for the Lovely card Beth and oh that Cuppa, will try that very soon. :) That made me smile have a great Day Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a fan of either rain or snow however I know that such things are necessary. I'm shocked to realize that it's not even officially winter yet. I always feel like in a perfect world it would be spring right after Christmas...however nobody asked me to do this! Have a good day my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou have done fantastically well Beth keeping up your blog posts. \nice to get a present that just 'fits the bill' such a satisfying feeling.
ReplyDeleteOur post doesn't come till about 3.30 and I don't get the chance to see the postie, so just leave a bar of chocolate taped to the mail box for him.
I like Joe's idea of spring just after Christmas, it gets my vote. Take care and keep warm. X
Lovely post - even on a rainy day. It was like that all day up here too - only probably 10 degrees colder. he he
ReplyDeleteHey dear I don't have your email address, send me over your address and I'll get a card out to you too :). alexisrunningaway(@)gmail(.)com
ReplyDeleteDo you have FB also?
I'd take rain any day also! The snow can stay up in the mountains :). Sounds like you had a fabulous time out. Glad you got the last gift you were looking for.
Hope you have a fabulous night!
Enjoy the rain. It can be very relaxing if you don't have to go out in it. Nice post. bertieblue.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having rain, too, but I am one of the few who wishes it was snow. Just doesn't feel like Christmas yet with no snow. :(
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed a nice quiet day after all the running around. :)
It sounds like Bass Pro is really branching out. I can remember long ago when the first one was put in Springfield, Missouri. We used to love to go there and watch them feed the fish. We also thought it was neat that there was a waterfall in the store.
ReplyDeleteI've not been there in a long time. We're not a hunting/fishing kind of family, so we don't have a lot of reason to visit - although it was neat taking the boys there to see the fish and the indoor waterfall. :)
You are so right about not wanting to clean when it rains! Horray for you for posting everyday. I am catching up and posting comments finally through my daughters ipad. Have an awesome day!
