Only 73 days left till Spring. Yesterday was so spring like that I felt sure the calendar must be wrong. The temp was in the upper 50s here and the sunshine was beautiful! Not quite as warm today but still above average.
Yesterday I had to park in the street as maintenance yanked out all of the old shrubs behind our buildings.
Here you can see how large the shrubs are. Really a nuisance,
This is behind my building and you can see the shadows as it is getting to be mid afternoon.
There is a slab of concrete that the shrubs were growing around. There will be room now for me to have a grill if I want to share the space with my next door neighbor.
I am out of bread so I need to make a store run here in a little while before the store gets crowded. I hope you all have a great weekend. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Wow, those are big. It will be nice to have a grill. The weather has been great. Wonder how long it will last and if we're in for a big dump of snow soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteGood to be thinking of spring. So far we are having a better winter this year than last year, snow snow stay away.
Hugs Nita
Hi Beth, our weather isn't quite as nice as yours, but passable, at least the horrible wind and rain has stopped. I think these bushes have outlived their usefulness, though I expect they may have been used as home for some little birds. :-(
ReplyDeleteI'd be heartbroken about losing the shrubs. I'd want privacy. We all do in the UK.
ReplyDeleteNice wind breaks those shrubs. Have a nice sunny day! We will grill today by the way ;-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nancy..they serve a purpose and I always hate to see living things wrenched up and destroyed. Maybe they planted them elsewhere I'll tell myself. :-)))

I hate to see beautiful mature bushes and trees cut down or completely removed. It takes a long time for them to grow that size. Here where I live they cut to the ground my wonderful Lilac bush, this took away my privacy and a place for the birds to rest on. The birds don't visit my feeders much now.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love these nice warm temperatures. I have to pinch myself now and then to make sure I'm not dreaming because this is unheard of for January in Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I made myself clear as far as the bushes were concerned. They were planted in 1973 and they were not in good condition at all. There will be replacement shrubs.
ReplyDeleteHappy Springtime, and may the rest of the winter continue to mild for us all. Bertieblue.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day Beth, oh I see your comment , it is good at least they are replacing them. Love the New Header. Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
ReplyDeleteHuge! You'll have more room, for sure. I can't believe the weather, either. ;)
