You work and work for years and years, you're always on the go
You never take a minute off, too busy makin' dough
Someday, you say, you'll have your fun, when you're a millionaire
Imagine all the fun you'll have in your old rockin' chair.
Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
You're gonna take that ocean trip, no matter, come what may
You've got your reservations made, but you just can't get away
Next year for sure, you'll see the world, you'll really get around
But how far can you travel when you're six feet underground?
Your heart of hearts, your dream of dreams, your ravishing brunette
She's left you and she's now become somebody else's pet
Lay down that gun, don't try, my friend, to reach the great beyond
You'll have more fun by reaching for a redhead or a blonde.
Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.

An old Guy Lombardo song that I remember from when I was a child. This song has been running through my mind a lot lately. So I am going out this morning and spend some money. I still have to get my daughter’s birthday present which is on Valentines day.
Only 40 days left on the countdown to Spring.
Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
My sentiments exactly Beth. Enjoy yourself. Peace.
ReplyDeletePeace to you! I hope you enjoy your retirement. If you are ever in central Illinois let me know. I would love to meet you. Thank your for your dedicated service to our country!
DeleteI agree. I don't think we enjoy ourselves enough some times. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteThat song says a lot doesn't it. Enjoy friend.
ReplyDeleteHi beth
ReplyDeleteHope you have a very enjoyable day. Hugs Nita
Have a Lovely day Beth, I think the words are brilliant and very true.
ReplyDeleteHugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
I have decided that I should follow those wise words. It took some doing but sometimes I do things simply to enjoy myself and not always be cautious. Feels good. And a little hard to do after a lifetime of caution. xoxox
ReplyDeleteI have lived these last few years cautiously. This past few months have taught me how very short life is.
DeleteI've never heard this song, but it's very true--LOL! Have fun spending your money! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love it!! My work does a brunch at a place called Lombardo's. Have fun shopping!
ReplyDeleteThat is all so true.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday gift will arrive tomorrow, a bit early but I'm not complaining one darn bit! My goodness I had to do a double take seeing how the countdown now isn't much over a month! I hope I won't be wallowing in late season snow will it warms up for everyone else. It's been a strangely warm winter for us all in all so you just never know.
ReplyDeleteYes Sis but how many days until the warmth REALLY gets in these parts I bet it is more like 60 days..late May or June here. Pie love it.. hope all goes well with your baking. :)
ReplyDeletehello my wonderful friend, have a great weekend hun,,, love, hugs, & kisses
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, I've been a bit remiss in coming on blogger, had my friends dogs, and it was my daughter Karen's 50th birthday on Wednesday, bought a new car and it's still very cold, BUT I am trying to take the advice and hope to Enjoy myself. be good to YOU ! XX
ReplyDeleteYou and the song are absolutely right. Depending on how much money I will have ammassed, not that I will be a millionaire (I wish!), I am shooting for an early retirement at 62. I am doing more these days than I ever have including work. If I can enjoy myself these days I'm going to do it.
