I will be gone today out searching for a brown eyed handsome man for me to propose to. Watch out all of you guys. LOL http://www.timeanddate.com/date/leap-day-february-29.html There are some really good traditions for February 29th. For example:
In Scotland, it used to be considered unlucky for someone to be born on Leap Day, just like Friday 13th is considered an unlucky day by many. In Greece it’s said to be unlucky for couples to marry during a Leap Year, and especially on Leap Day. I consider the 29th to be a good day as I woke up this morning alive and breathing. That in itself is a miracle.
It is gorgeous out this morning on the 19th day on the countdown to Spring. It is 55 degrees and sunny but very windy. We are under a high wind advisory for this afternoon. I noticed the grass in my front yard has started to green up.
I am feeling pretty yucky today so I called and made an appointment with one of my many doctors for Friday.
You all stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Enjoyed learning about some of the leap year things that I never knew before. Sorry you are not feeling well again. Hope the doctor has some answers.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteBreezy here too, but so warm, it's scary. They had bad tornadic winds down by Branson last night, lots of damage. My friend came through it unscathed, so I'm happy for that. We didn't even get the rain they promised.
happy Leap Day, and good luck finding that brown-eyed handsome man !!
I am looking Annie. ;-)
DeleteHope you feel better soon so you can catch that 'brown-eyed handsome man'. Get it gone.
ReplyDeleteI consider Leap day very lucky as I have such a wonderful granddaughter born on this day.
Yes a leap day to do whatever you feel like doing. I sure hope that you come around to feeling some better by Friday. Take care Sis XXOO
ReplyDeleteSorry you're feeling yucky today. :( Green grass. My goodness! We've got a white-out blizzard going up here. They had tornadoes down south, too. You're lucky to have a pretty day. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we were kids we thought being born on Leap Day would be just the best thing in the world--so special. Seems funny that some people consider it bad luck.
Have a great day, Beth!
I am so glad you have the snow and not us. It is just the wind gusting 40 - 45 miles per hour.
DeleteOh Twin..feel better and let us know that you are feeling better. I think I'll skip proposing to any fellas today. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI think I will skip it too. Once I had a brown eyed handsome man.
DeleteWarm and raining here but at least it ain't snow! Feel better.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that it was unlucky to some. I always find it just and odd day when we have it. I would hate to be born on it since you get robbed of some birthday days ... lol.
