BE MY LIFE’S COMPANION
Want no silver threads among the gold
Want no silver threads among the gold
Want no silver threads, want some action instead
Want no silver threads among the gold.
Be my life's companion and you'll never grow old,
I'll love you so much that you'll never grow old,
When there's joy in living you just never grow old.
You've got to stay young 'cause you'll never grow old.
People who are lonely can be old at thirty-three
Don't let it happen to you, and don't let it happen to me
Be my life's companion and you'll never grow old
You'll never grow old, no, you'll never grow old.
Love and youth and happiness are yours to have and hold
Be my life's companion and you'll never grow old.
I know a man who's lonely and he's old at thirty-three;
No one wants to be old at thirty-three.
Your disposition sours like a lemon on a tree
Don't let it happen to you and don't let it happen to me
Be my life's companion and you'll never grow old
Yes I'll love you so much that you'll never grow old.
Love and youth and happiness are yours to have and hold
Be my life's companion, be my life's companion
And you'll never grow old.

Have a wonderful Sunday Beth!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool song! I have never heard it before.
ReplyDeleteI'll be humming it all day....
Blessings, Joanne
I didn't realize when I posted this that today is your wedding anniversary or I would have dedicated the song to you and your husband.
DeleteI forgot to say that this song is very old. I remember it from when I was a small child.
DeleteI've never heard the song but it IS nice.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you.
Beautiful song!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, Beth. :)
I remember this song when I was about 15 and I think it was sung by the Mills brothers. We used to dance to this in Jr. High School Dance Club. (I was in love, of course.) Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteThe words are familiar to me. I must have read them somewhere once upon a time. :-)

ReplyDeleteRemember when we used to try to sing this song. It would have been nice if we could sing. Me
ReplyDeleteAmazing isn't it? 8 kids and not a one of us could sing. ;-)
DeleteHappy Sunday, Miss Beth!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful and I loved listening to it.
I have never heard that song either. I do love the lyrics!
ReplyDeleteSo your old address was 310? That was my old address. My daughter was born on the 13th (310 backwards), we lived at 1315 for 13 years, then my daughter moved into 113. So I have always considred 13 my lucky number.
Nice! Thanks. from Beach Gal Bertie
ReplyDeleteNew one on me, but lovely words.
ReplyDeleteOh that was Lovely Beth, never heard this one before.
ReplyDeleteSheila and Wile-e hugs xx
LOVE it! Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a well written song, full of sincere emotions! Very nice. Love is worth the risks and the 'what ifs'.... to find arms that will hold you at your weakest times, eyes that will see you at your ugliest, and a heart that will love you at your worst... then you know that you have found true love.
