Lovely, Sunny…

chilly day in central Illinois.  It is 53 degrees.  Gorgeous spring day.  The wind has stopped blowing (finally) and I am home from Michael’s Moods (the name of the shop where I get my hair cut).  For today, right this minute, on this very day, I am having a good hair day.  I was surprised to notice that my beautician had on jeans  with the cuff rolled up to mid calf.  This was the style when I was young.

That is me on the right and my friend Shirley on the left when we were both  in high school.
Some of you may remember last year when my front yard was all torn up and new driveways were being poured.  I had to park in the street for several weeks.  The grass in my front yard now is beautiful.  Take a look though at the shrubs that were planted in the front yard this morning.  they look half dead to me.

Oh well, perhaps they will look better after they grow a little bit.

I have an appointment tomorrow.  I hope the weather is decent for it.

Stay safe and be happy!

Beth

  1. This is such a pretty time of year, and I love these cooler days (well my ideal temperature is 70 - 75 with no humidity). I do remember those rolled up jeans. Forgot all about that until you posted a picture. Those were the days!

  2. It's 43 and grey yet again but this is all part of the territory. I far prefer late May to April in these parts. I well remember your driveway situation...I bet you don't miss that much. Have a good day my friend.

  3. I never had jeans like that, but I remember seeing them.
I hope the shrubs will be okay. And that all goes well at your appointment today. It's only 48 today--so chillier here, too. :)

  4. I hope to get a haircut (walk in) this afternoon. I remember the pant cuffs...I used to put food from my plate I didn't want in them as a kid and gave it to the dog outside ;-)

  9. I'm glad you're having a good hair day! I went to get mine cut a couple weeks ago, and had to have someone different, and I haven't had a good hair day since!

Darling photo! I always did think that jeans rolled up was cute. Now that you mention it, my hair dresser was wearing cuffed jeans when I went, too! It must be fashionable all over!

You should go visit your niece in London! You really should!

  10. I've had my share of the opposite... 'bad hair days'. In early high school years, I used to hate it when someone would come up and say, "Nice hair style Seth. Are you trying to start a new trend?" Now a days, my hair is much thinner and I seem to be missing quite a bit (hate how as we get older is disappears)the only bad hair days that I have is when my barber is having a bad day/mood swing.

    The yard looks wonderful...

  11. I had my jeans rolled up today too! I love that look. Today was a beautiful day here too. Almost 80 degrees. Those bushes will perk up after they have taken root.
    Love the picture!
