Thursday…

but bringing back memories.  I was born on a Wednesday.  For a second or two I couldn’t remember what day of the week I was born on.  A Google search revealed that I was born on a Wednesday.  And now I know what is wrong with me.  I am filled with ‘woe.’
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for its living,
But a child that's born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blythe, and good and(happy).

Wednesday - the fourth day of the week, Woden (Odin),
chief god of
Norse mythology, who was often called the All Father.

"Wednesday's
child is full of woe." Odin's responsibilities were such
that he was
never attributed with any cheerful disposition.

Since I was child # 6 in what turned out to be 8 children,
I am thinking it was probably my mom that was full of woe.
Oh, the things we think of when we don’t want to do any
housework.

I have been to Kroger to stock up on veggies and TV dinners
and now I really do need to cut this short.
Have a peaceful day. Stay safe and be happy!!

  2. Me, too! I was a Wednesday's child. May have had woe, but a lot of joy, too. And I don't think anybody gets by without woe in this life. ;)

  6. I am a Wednesday's child. I always hated that poem when I was a child. Now, I don't put much stock in such things. Each life has its measure of loss and sadness.

  7. You found out what day you were born on by Googling yourself? I have no idea what day I was born on but I have it on good authority that I was in fact born.

  11. Monday evening, I don't know about "fair of face" but I think the time of day determines whether you are a night person or a morning person. I am definately a night person.

Interesting read. But you can overcome the woe and probably have. :o) Beach Gal Bertie

  16. I'm a Friday child. I am called Kofi in Ghana where they pay close attention to the day of the week in which you are born. I've never heard this before, live 'n learn!
