Thursday..

the day after.  I had a restless night but I feel so much better today knowing that is all behind me for now.

My daughter stopped by this morning and took me to the pharmacy and to Kroger to get a few groceries.  Each time I shop at the grocery store everything is higher.  Distilled water jumped from 91 cents a gallon to 97 cents a gallon since last week.  I have to use that in the c-pap so even though I can’t drink it, still it is a necessity.

At the pharmacy I found out that a new drug that the doctor wants me to take will have to be approved by my insurance company.  No approval it  is $295.50 a month (30 pills).  If the insurance company doesn’t approve it the doctor will have to figure out something else as that is a little steep for my budget.  I hate new meds anyway as I usually have an adverse reaction to them.

The storms passed us by and I am glad although we are getting desperate on the rain needed situation.  It is sunny and beautiful today although pretty windy.  59 degrees right now and to get to the mid 60s by afternoon.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Glad you slept a bit better!

I'll be praying that the new med cost works out that is a lot for each month. There has to be approved or a better cost one.

I'm glad to hear the storms past over you! You take it easy and enjoy a relaxing day.

Thanks for your sweet comments. xoxo

  2. Man, I sure know what its like not having something approved by the insurance co. They'd be happy if you took a teaspoon of mud or something instead of medicine and probably make you pay for that too. xoxo

  3. I know that the side effects and cost of medications are not fun at all. I hope that you can find some relief. I know you've been struggling for some time now. There's a silver lining to every cloud Beth, I really believe that! We have one more great day before it cools off considerably here so I intend to enjoy it all I can! Have a great day!

  4. Jack had that happen with a drug he has to take. The Doctor called and talked to the ins. co. and he received a letter approving the drug. Hope they approve yours.

  6. Good luck with the insurance company approving your medication. Damn insurance companies! THEY control medicine now. Not the doctors.

We have run a family corner drug store for years, and wow do we know all about insurance companies. And the government. -sigh-

    Gentle hugs,

  9. Oh dear. I sure do hope your insurance will approve the new drug. ONe never knows about insurance. That is a horrible price to have to pay. Prices on anything have just gotten way out of hand, I think.,

  10. These drugs are just too darn expensive, and like you, I hate taking new ones because I don't know the reaction I will have. I hope you are able to get this new drug approved by the insurance company and that you have no adverse reaction.

A few months ago, I had to drive to the next town to fill my prescription for a heart medication. I then had to pay $150 out of pocket. There days later, my doctor took me off the medicine and put me on another. OUCH

  14. You don't have things easy, do you Beth, to have to pay for meds is a disgrace in this day and age, you'd think we were in the nineteenth century, as far as the price of everything rising it's the same here, where will it all end. Till the rich have all they want from us, maybe?
