I didn’t want to do it but I feel compelled to tell you all that the expected temp for us right here in the very heart of Illinois today is predicted to be 105. If that isn’t something to rant about I don’t know what is. I will not be venturing out at all today unless it is an emergency.
So what to do on a day with extreme heat. First you pray that the air conditioner keeps working, Then you get busy and do some housework that you have neglected for awhile, or read a book, anything to keep busy. And of course, the bathroom always needs cleaning.

MY niece sitting on top of a snow bank and my daughter trying to reach the top,
Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Same here so inside is the place to be. I think the book is at the top of the list though so much else could be done. Cute picture but not looking forward to that either. Guess you just can't saisfy me, lol.
ReplyDeleteOr you can always drag out that box of old photos and organize them into albums! That's always fun to do too. Or find someone with a swimming pool that has some shade. Try to stay cool and think frosty thoughts---love the pic of the snowbank and kids!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know that it's supposed to get quite that hot here but it is going to be hot again today. I'll be staying in as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteCute picture and I'll try to think frosty thoughts.
Have a good day.
Last year we had a record number of days in a row over 100 degrees. Truly opressive BUT we count our blessings and try to do something fun...or clean. lol
ReplyDeleteLove the picture Beth, it's quite hot here today to (78) .Hope you manage to stay cool and find a good book.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Day
Sheila xx
what a cute 'cool-down' pic! good luck!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting a break from the heat for one day. It is only 77 and low humidity. The hot weather comes back tomorrow again.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in Chicago for a short while when I was a small child. One of us has the picture of my sister and I lost in the trench my dad dug from the house to the street. My sister was crying - extremes from one way to another! I hope the heat breaks for you soon - it feels like the low hundreds today - indoor stuff - my poor garden!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kathy
Oh that snow bank looks so inviting. :) B
ReplyDeleteIt's quite pleasant inside anyway, but 90 outside at the present. The photo sure looks good, but of course I love snow cause we get little snow. There's always plenty for me to do inside too.
ReplyDeleteThose are hot temperatures! Glad you were able to get your closets all cleaned and organized! Hope you're staying cool and the A/C keeps running!
ReplyDeleteI hope that the day is turning out easier than you thought and that the airconditioning works really well for you! Joan
ReplyDeletePS enjoy those books ...don't bother with cleaning the bathroom that can wait for another day!
Those winter pictures surely are nice to see on a hot summer day. My sympathy because I do not enjoy hot weather either. Stay cool, Beth. BGB
ReplyDeleteI cleaned the BATHROOM yesterday, tub, surround, sink, potty, the whole 9 yards. It was a feel-like of 107 today but only 97 in degrees. xxoo
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment on my blog. I'm sorry for your back/neck pain also. We were right at 100 today. We're eating lots of salads to keep the kitchen cool. Wishing you a restful night.
ReplyDeleteAww, what a precious picture, Beth! and I sure hope it cools down up there--It's hot here, too, but somehow, I guess we're so used to it in New Orleans. I'm about never outside! lol
ReplyDeleteXO
Cindy
I have put down a/c more than once in my grateful journal!!!
ReplyDeletesandie
The perfect picture for today!! I hope you get some relief soon, that's just way too hot!!!
ReplyDeleteOh- It was so hot here today, too. I weeded very early for about 2 hours and came in soaked to the skin...and NO it didn't rain. I couldn't wait to jump in the shower. The rest of the day I just kind of dragged butt because of the heat- UGH- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYes, it is HOT everywhere. It is a great day to think about snow...which is just what you did. Hope tomorrow is rainy and cool for you. Wouldn't that be lovely? Enjoy the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteIt was cooler here than the weatherman predicted! We were waiting for our severe thunderstorm this afternoon, but it never did arrive. maybe tomorrow....but did have fun with the grandkiddies today!
ReplyDeleteUgh yuck!!! You have the right to rant. It's hotter and muggier there than here in the desert!!! Nasty! I was going to say....the bathroom always needs cleaning, but I ended up staying in my pj's reading and doing absolutely nothing....well I made coleslaw....it was cold and delcious! I say cold drinks are a must on hot hot days. Shut the curtains around the house and hide in a room:)
ReplyDeleteI can sitting warm weather NOT cold weather for me.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture with cold weather in the grandchildren.
You have a good week Beth!
105? That is insanely hot! You are smart not to go out in that kind of weather. Stay in the ac Beth...have a great and cool day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
You are so right. This is insane, and for Illinois it it unheard of! As an OTR Trucker, Bill said the countries crops are seriously destroyed by this heat. It is sad and dangerous. Stay safe inside...and this too shall pass. Thanks for the photo. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWOW a lot hotter than we had here but the intensity of the AIR about laid me out.. so blasted humid..ughhhh..I dread August now.. Stay cool Sis XX00
ReplyDeleteLove the old picture there my friend, that's the way to rebel against the heat! It's only 73 here with high eighties predicted so I cannot complain one bit. I hope to blog today and get some pictures of our trip to the mountains up...that helps make a person feel cooler!
ReplyDeleteThis picture is so cute!
ReplyDeleteJust keep on looking at that picture Beth, and think cool waters, no use getting hot under the collar, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness I'm so sorry you're having such high temps :(. I hope your AC is working well and you can relax a bit.
ReplyDeleteI just love that photo!
