at old pictures.
I think this picture has a lot of character. this is my Aunt Ruth, the sister of my grandfather on my mother’s side of the family. Just look at all of the different things you see in the picture, clothes hanging on the line, a tiny head of a child in the front of the picture, etc.

I have been to garage sales this morning. I t was fun. I picked up some nice Christmas doo dads to put around my door at Christmas, a Gooseberry Patch Christmas Cookbook, and a couple of books to read.
It is a lovely cool day at 77 degrees right now with a northeasterly breeze at 15 MPH.
I hope you all have a peaceful weekend. Stay safe and be happy!!

she is beautiful. i like her jacket, her hand out to the side, and the other holding her purse in the crook of her elbow - just like my mother always did. :)
ReplyDeletePretty pretty lady! I love the stucco house and the button on her jacket. That flirty curl in the middle of her forehead reminded me of the Mother Goose Rhyme:
ReplyDelete"There was a little girl who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good, she was very, very good,
And when she was bad she was horrid."
First thing I noticed was the clothes line! : )
ReplyDeleteShe certainly was a lovely gal...I love the way she's holding her hand and the cut of her suit and blouse. Now I'm wondering what is in the corner of the porch by the door.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting and always dressed to the hilt - hot or cold. sandie
ReplyDeleteShe was a pretty lady and had style. I too am wondering about the thing in the background on the porch by the door.
ReplyDeleteShe was dressed up to go someplace special. Love the spit-curl and the beautiful jacket and lacy blouse. Sounds like you made some finds at the garage sales. So very glad it has cooled off there, too. It's glorious! :)
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the porch behind her. It looks like there are canning jars by the door, but it also looks like there's a face on one! LOL Hope you're enjoying the cooler weather. I know I am!!
ReplyDeleteHope you can sales to garage ALL them...

Her clothes are really neat. Very stylish. Lots of really interesting stuff going on like you say. And garage sales!! Those are fun when you go with the right people. I used to have fun looking for goodies with my mom:)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting old picture -- a moment in time captured forever. Glad you had fun going to garage sales this morning! Treasure hunting at yard sales and thrift stores is always enjoyable to me as well. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Beth. Do have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Dianne :)
Times sure have changed! She's an attractive woman. I just love her jacket with that big button! It seems that all the ladies had pretty skin back then. I wonder if it's because they didn't tan all the time?? Hope you have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful! Her face and grace shows how beautiful her heart must be too...:-) Happy weekend on your side of the world..
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely woman. I do like the composition of the picture. A brief glimpes into the past. Saturday and Sunday are sales tax free days here in Ma. and I plan to make me a purchase. Not sure what it will be yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture. She was very pretty. I love the natural look of things around her. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how with all the technology we have these days there is still something about the old pictures like that don't you think?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. She looks like she was going somewhere important.
