Thursday thinking…

The washer arrived a couple of days ago and I am checking it out this morning.  The price is still the same, $1.50 per load which is a miracle in itself.  The dryer is still 75 cents but the first round never gets the clothes really dry.

My package arrived yesterday and I am having a blast with it.  Check the link if you want to know what it is.  It is all loaded from your computer and the screen is touch.  This has been (check link) a hobby of mine since the seventies when the things required crystals.

So now you all know that I do have a hobby, other than knitting which I haven’t touched since I moved here.  I need some nagging from some of my readers out there that knit.  Happy One??  I used to knit a lot when I was working at the AFB.  I would take my knitting bag with me and knit until time to go to work and on my lunch hour.  I really like knitting, it is just that I have a lot more things to do here than I did at home.

The weather is gorgeous here again today but is to warm into the 90s.  Maybe some rain on Sunday, that is the forecast anyway.

I need to cut this short as I have to go check my laundry.  I also have to grocery shop this morning.

I hope you all have a great day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Good morning! If I ever learned to knit it would be a miracle. I have no skill at all but I had the wish to learn. Some people (me) can't take a step without a note saying which foot. (me). xox

    1. P.S. Dad loved to listen to ours but they switched to digital frequency and so the old machines didn't work anymore. We still have the old one and NOAA works on it amazingly well. Enjoy your new hobby.

  3. My Mom loves to do needle point and has framed some of her projects...me? I don't think I'd ever have the patience for it. The weather has been pretty amazing though still way too dry here. Have a great Thursday my friend.

  4. I used to do needlepoint, but when computers could do it faster and just as good as I could, I gave it up---took too much time and effort. Still have a photo album of my "creations" on shirts! Enjoy knitting again when you are stuck inside---especially during winter and power outages!

  5. Currently I am learning knitting in the round. I love it but I am finding my fingers hurt quite a bit afterward. maybe I just need to get more use to it. My daughter had an app on her IPAD to hear stuff going on all over the world it seemed ( don't ask me how that was possible!) but she took the app off...I think she was sick of me borrowing her Ipad..I found it fasinating! Have a great day!

  8. Interesting. Because my husband was once a policeman we have always had a scanner going. He turns it on every evening just to see what is going on in the area. It is programed for all sorts of communications. Enjoy your old hobby.

  9. Who knew we would ever be so excited about a new washer?!?:) I agree - it's a miracle that the cost per load hasn't increased!

I knitted many years ago, but haven't done any in a long time. I still have my knitting bag, with yarn in it, even!:) Guess I think I'm going to begin again.;)

Haven't checked out your package, but I'll do that now.

  10. It has got to be a blessing to have a washing machine again. Is it a community washer that you must pay per load? Still better than hauling laundry all over.

  11. Our scanner sits quietly on top of the TV and that's just how I like it lol. In fact, it might not work anymore now that they went digital but who knows. It's been turned off for so long now that I have no idea if it works or not. I'm glad you enjoy it though. I use too but anymore noise of any kind just drives me up the wall. Hope you are well and doing good. I really need to get back into the swing of things again. Maybe when school starts I will. Take care k!

  12. Beth,
I laughed at nookworm about her scanner. My mom had one and she would listen then call all us kids to see if we were okay, if she heard of a wreak. LOL Maybe you will knit again with the cooler weather around the corner. Smiles, Susie

  13. Get out those needles and start knitting. : ) It is a great way to relax. How about knitting while watching television?
I know there are so many things to do so you just have to pick the things that are good for you at the time. I guess we could all use a few more extra hours each day!

  15. Glad your washer/dryer situation has worked out well.

I too like to knit but really haven't done much since I started quilting. I agree with Caroldee that it is more logical to knit in winter. But I do miss it.

    Enjoy your day.

  18. Beth you should knit again!! My grandmother and mother and sister have all known how to knit, but poor Paula was born a lefty and just couldn't get the hang of it.

Happy laundry day to you :))

  22. Your laundry is a bargain! Glad everything is working as it should. I used to knit, but I never finished anything except a dishcloth! I started a sweater, but it got bigger, and bigger, and bigger, until I finally shoved it all in a bag with the rest of the yarn and sold it for a buck at my garage sale. No more knitting.

  23. Thankful the price didn't go up! Interesting headstones in the cemetery! I haven't been to see my dad at the cemetery in almost a year. He's just so far away, 2 1/2 hours and I have such a hard time in the car lately with my back. I will go in a few weeks. Hope you're having a nice day!

  24. Hi Beth, I'm happy that you can do your laundry again.
Thanks for visiting my music blog.

Yes, Nine to five is a fun movie, but I like most things with Dolly Parton in them. I taught myself to play guitar three years ago. It is probably the easiest instrument to learn, or I could not have done it. Now I play and sing with our local Old Time Fiddlers group and at nursing homes around town. I'm an old dog that just learned a new trick. Have a great weekend, Connie :)
