It is a Tuesday Monday again..

but I will be nice and not express my feelings about that again.  I know those of you that are still working appreciated having a day off.  I did too when I was still working.

I have been out this morning to get gas.  It took right at $40 to fill the tank which was just under 1/2 full.  I honestly don’t see how people can manage.  I have been reading my old Windows Live Spaces blog in conjunction with a new blog I am doing.  I had noted in my posts that the average gas price for 2007 was $3.29.  This morning it is $3.84 to $3.99 around town.

I also stopped by the grocery store for some cornbread mix.  I found a ham bone while cleaning out my freezer, from Easter I  imagine.  I have some great northern beans on cooking now with the ham.  I will share these with my daughter and son in law.

I had one of my blogging friends ask me how long it took me to comment on blogs posted by my followers.  It is time consuming because I comment on each post by my followers that is listed in the reader file.  I also have other blogs, 3 on Wordpress and a couple more on Bloggger.  I also have plenty of time which I know a lot of you don’t.  Needless to say I don’t post on all of these blogs each day, just this blog.

I do take time out from the computer to tidy my house each day and take care of the dreaded bathroom.  lol  AND once in awhile I cook.

Time now to check and see what you have all been up to.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Sounds like you had an uneventful Labor Day. We went to a beach about 2 hrs from here on Sunday and in spite of the Marine Layer, we enjoyed the mystic quality of the beach. Our two dogs enjoyed it the most, I think, especially when they had the opportunity to play with other dogs in the water. Enjoy the week!

  2. Wow Beth I am impressed I never find time to tidy my house and sometimes not cook and I am no where near the considerate blogger you are.
The bean soup sounds delicious you have inspired me. I am going to shot down and make a pot of soup My Hero will want to thank you:)
Your gas is cheap ours is $1.34 a liter I am not sure of the conversion but I am pretty sure 4 of our liters equal one of your US gallons. See what I mean. I filled my Jeep with $70 and it was half full. B

  4. I have 3 Blogger blogs, Admiral, mine and Katies, and the WP blog. I try to update that one every few weeks. But the girls' blogs take a lot of time to make the rounds. Katie blogs every day, me, a few times a week and Admiral, just when the mood hits her up on the Rainbw Bridge, but there are also 3 Twitter accounts too. Both girls and my own. WHEW! They are decently active; especially Katie.

  5. Hi Beth

I had what we call boiled bacon, last night, my mum did pease pudding with which I really liked, but have never got around to doing myself. Tonight we have cold boiled bacon, as I am out to a church business meeting and having been out with boys all day for the last day of the school hols, I do not have much time.

  7. Blogging can take a lot of time. I sure appreciate it when people take the time to visit and comment at my place. I sure hope no one ever does it just because they feel obligated to though.

Your ham and beans sounds delicious!

  8. Blogging and blog-hopping can take lots of time, but it sure is fun to check in on friends and to log in and see that your friends have checked in on you. :)

Gas prices are ridiculous! I've decided from now on, I'm going to fill the tank when it gets down to 1/2, rather than waiting for it to get to empty. Maybe I won't feel so ripped off then...

  9. I can't imagine anyone commenting on how long it takes you to reply. Many, many bloggers don't reply at all. It sounds like you had a productive day- Blessings- xo Diana

  10. Your ham and beans, with cornbread sound delicious to me.
Nothing wrong with enjoying and commenting on blogs, now that we don't work outside the home any longer. Blogging has been a great way for me to meet nice folks and to "see" places I'll never visit! Wishing you a nice evening, Beth.

  11. Gas was at $3.95 here this week. My mom used to make ham and beans and cornbread. It was wonderful. That's a great memory for me. I miss her cooking. I hope you have a nice week!

  12. Beth, your ham and beans sound just like something we would cook around here.:)

I hope you have a good Tuesday evening!

  13. Northern beans sound so good right now!! It's hard Beth. Every penny is pinched and most people barely make it. It seems like it's just getting worse with the younger generations and debt. Gas isn't quite that expensive in Tucson but I understand it's higher elsewhere. We are at about 3.50 a gallon.

My Grandma and her husband love retirement but Grandma enjoys her computer time, polka music, and well shall I say....spirited drinks:)

I'm back again. I had a big challenge for myself that was driving me mad for the entire summer but thankfully it's done now and I can cut back on the bug bites. This heat is a killer here. Hope you had a great 3 day. Chris

  14. I get so upset about gas prices it makes me ill. When gas goes up, everything else follows because everything is affected by the price of gas. Greed is killing this country. Let me get off my soap box now.

I think some of your followers misunderstood....they thought I was complaining because it took you so long to comment...not so....you comment each day on my blog...the only person who does....and I just appreciate you so much!!! I knew my blog wasn't special...that YOU are special and comment on everyone's blogs....and I wanted to know how long it took to do that because I know you have a lot of followers and you recipricate, commenting on their blog, too. I hope you knew what I meant.

I just wanted to let you know that I made your lemon bread today and my family LOVED it. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  17. I just paid $3.99 :( but better then few years back when we almost got up to $5. It killed me paying over a $1000 each month in gas for Rick and I both to work outside the home. I'm so bless now to work from home, or I don't think we could make it with gas.

The beans and ham sounds amazing ... YUM!

You worked hard, it's time to have some extra time to blog and comment :).
