Update…

on my sister Rae.  She came through the surgery fine.  She had bone fusion and 2 rods and screws put in her back.  She has a long row ahead of her but she is expected to do fine.  My heartfelt thanks to all of  my blogging friends who kept her in their thoughts and prayers.  I spoke to her this morning and she asked me to convey her thanks to all of you too!

Whew, and now I can breathe again and get back to Christmas business.  Yesterday I was such a nervous wreck waiting that I made peanut butter and chocolate walnut fudge.  And now I have to figure out what to do with all of the goodies I have in the freezer.  I am sure I will think of something.

I probably won’t be on the computer much for the next few days.  I will try to post a line or two each day and I will try to visit those of you online.

Have a blessed day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. So glad things went well and you can relax now. I got stressed yesterday and couldn't get myself to make the cookies I had intended to make, and you bake to de-stress! lol Have a great day.

  11. So happy to hear your sister will be okay. She had the exact same operation my girl friend had. Two rods on either side of her spine, with the rods going to the base of her skull all the way down her spine., Yikes! I'm happy to report tho that she's doing great. Gets very tired yet, but otherwise is doing great.

  29. I knew she'd be fine...where one or two are gathered together in His name....and we prayed for her. :) God does answer prayers.

I'll bet your son will be happy to take care of your fudge! And just don't eat too much ham! We want your new meds to keep working well! Have a wonderful, safe Christmas!

  32. Good news Beth, and I expect a relief to many of your friends. I know what you can do with your goodies, when you go to hospital visiting, take some and share them with someone who needs a bit of extra cheer.

  33. So good to know your sister came through with flying colors! And what a great way for you to stay busy....BAKE some goodies! I'd be too absentminded to even follow a recipe, I think. I usually clean house when I have worrisome things on my mind.....but unfortunately or fortunately...that doesnt happen very often! :) Merry Christmas, Beth!

  35. Beth I am so glad your sister got through the surgery. Yes she has a long road ahead in recovery. I am a cleaning nut when I am nervous. I did a lot of Christmas baking this year and regret it already. I have eaten so much already and there is so much still left. Today I need to pack some up that I can freeze.
