Bright sunshine today. It was 10 degrees this morning when I first went out. It is to warm to the low 30s today which will be very nice as long as the sun is shining.
Last year on the 4th of each month I took a picture of a tree that is between my back door and the cemetery. I thought I might do something similar this year but I can’t think of anything interesting to photograph for 12 months. It is too cold to go outdoors and browse around looking for a subject. So I guess that is out for this year.
I am so longing for spring and winter has barely started. I don’t, however, want another summer of drought and unbearable heat like we had last year. We are still 10 inches below normal on the precipitation. We have had about 6 inches of snow so far this season and it takes a foot of snow to measure one inch. Not looking good right now.
My niece is coming over for lunch today. I fixed chicken salad for sandwiches. Then to warm up the tummy a bit, some baked beans. I love baked beans, one of my favorite foods, right up there with pizza and mac and cheese.
Have a great weekend. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
I share your feelings about winter. It is difficult to go out in that cold sometimes isn't it? The worst is here the snow is gone but it's still very chilly leaving it not only cold but rather uninspiring to photograph. Enjoy your lunch Beth, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful lunch! It sounds like a yummy meal too!
ReplyDeleteStay warm and have a great weekend!
I could never stand the cold and I lived in Canada until my early forties! Brrrrrrr!!
ReplyDeleteOne day in my high school yrs, it got down to minus 40 with the wind chill. I don't ever want to move back there.
i don't miss the brutal winters. :)
ReplyDeleteI sure don't like the cold weather. Hope you two have a lovely lunch. I love baked beans also. I made something called Calico Beans a couple of years back that were very tasty too. You can google the recipe if you are interested. Enjoy the sunshine and it's never to late if you do decide to post a photo a month. I surely enjoyed your tree last year!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteIt will be no surprise to you that I am eagerly awaiting spring too.
Have my days mixed up this week, but it is Friday, so hope you have a good weekend too.
Hugs Nita
I made baked beans and ham for lunch. I have not made them for years. They turned out well. Beth, I am so tired of this winter.LOL...yes, it is just the start. The sun is shining, but the wind is blow the snow around, nasty. Come on Springtime. 75 more days after today. :):):) xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWe had baked beans last week. I love the smell of the molasses while they bake. But I haven't made mac and cheese in a long time. Thanks for tomorrow's supper idea!
ReplyDeleteSIS..stay warm this weather is weird for sure..I will miss your photo log..it does not seem like Friday..maybe Wednesday..may things get back to normal next week. Take care :-)

Gastronomically speaking we could be twins-LOL
ReplyDeleteKeep warm Beth it will be spring faster than we know it. Hug B
ReplyDeleteKeep warm and I love chicken salad.
ReplyDeleteIt was still very cold here again too. I am already tired of the snow and cold.
ReplyDeleteYour lunch sounds good. Have a nice weekend!
I'm not sure where our temperature went the past couple of days, I just know it's cold here too. It was so nice that your niece came for lunch.
ReplyDeleteIf I could send you some of our stinking heat I would it is another bloody hot day here so hot that I had to close the curtain over the front door to shut the heat out......
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your niece had a lovely time together today!
ReplyDeleteI don't like the cold either, but I sure do enjoy taking snow pictures when it's not too cold, like in the 20's
ReplyDeleteHaven't had any more than a inch of snow at a time here, but up at Happy Trails they've had over 4 feet this year so far!!! They get a foot at a time there!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, yum! What a tasty lunch!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here this season, but we are almost 3/4 inch above average rainfall for the year, and this is only the 4th!
xo Nellie
I hope your niece coming lunch with you all the time.
ReplyDeleteAND not too cold weather I had hot weather 46 yesterday.
Love you Beth!
Michiko
This is the time of year when Spring is very appealing. I love to look at last year's pictures and remember the beauty of the flowers and the lush green of the trees. My Japanese Maple tried to put out buds for leaves a couple of weeks ago, but a freeze two nights ago probably set it back. That was the first freeze of this season. Global warmoing has really changed our weather here. We had over 10 inches more than normal of rain last year, but it doesn't snow here anymore, just in the mountains. It still could happen, I guess. BGB
ReplyDeleteDue to time difference I presume you have had lunch with your niece and enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm.
Baked beans, and deviled eggs always remind me of summer picnics and they bring a smile! Like you, I am already looking toward spring! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteIts cold here too. I hope you had a nice visit and lunch with your niece!
ReplyDeleteand I liked your nice, happy title!
ReplyDeleteHey Beth, we take the good weather with the bad here in Alabama. There have been days here were we had snow in the morning and by late afternoon the sun had come out and it felt almost warm enough to swim.
ReplyDeleteJilda and I had baked beans in Boston when we were there several years ago. They were scrumptious.
Stay war.
Rick
