Caught up in the madness…

of the Jodi Arias trial.  http://abcnews.go.com/US/jodi-arias-defense-attacks-travis-alexander-testimony/story?id=18355580

I guess I am hooked on it.  What can I say?  I was hooked on the O.J. trial and  the Casey Anthony trial.  I thought both of those trials turned out badly as I felt Simpson and Anthony were both guilty.  I think Arias is guilty too, but who knows how a jury will decide.

I have been a juror on a county and federal trial.  I am fascinated with the whole jury system.  I think that is one reason I love the books by Phillip Margolin.  http://www.phillipmargolin.com/    He is a criminal defense lawyer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phillip_Margolin and he imparts that into his writing.

It is very cold and sunny this morning at 16 degrees.  It is very windy too so the wind chill is right down there.  I have been grocery shopping this morning stocking up for the below zero temps that are on the way.

Are you all geared up for the Super Bowl??  I am not as I don’t understand football.  Jim tried to explain it to me time after time.  I do love baseball and basketball though.  Not to say that I don’t admire the outfits the football guys wear.  LOL

Keep warm, stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Morning Beth...we are already at 30 !! lol But it's cold out there and the wind doesn't help a bit.

I don't watch those trials...don't even know what the one is you're watching. I'm afraid I don't have a LOT of faith in the justice system...as they say, just 12 people not smart enough to get out of jury duty. I have always done my duty, but only once was I ever actually on a jury. Then I was released because I knew the DOJ guys in question. lol

I went out yesterday for my sub-zero stocking up, lol. I think I'm set. I won't be watching the SB either. never have, never will. Just don't care about it and there are always plenty of other things to do. lol

Take care of your sweet self in this weather...xoxoxox

  2. Wooo...eeee it is cold out there compared to what it was a couple of days ago. It's 17 here with wind chill of 12 below.. Admire you getting out in it. I walk a little bit and I am frozen. I am not so much into trials etc..so that passes me by.. I figure nothing much I can do about it and the jury has all the power so doesn't bother me. As for the Superbowl..I like the excitement of it and hopefully it will be a close game as I HATE one sided ones. Looking forward to the commercials too. Stay warm and well Sis.. XOXO

  4. Hi Beth, John and I often follow trials on court tv and we have watched much of the Arias trial. I often watch Nancy Grace and Jane Velez Mitchell's shows at night to catch up on the day's events in the trial. I think I get my interest in that from mother - who loved Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote tv shows!
We had heavy rain/wind yesterday and a tornado touched down about 30 miles away. Today the sun is out but it is cold for us. Take care.

  5. Beth, I have never heard of that trial. I agree that Simpson and Anthony were guilty. I like baseball, college football. Not so into basketball...which seems crazy being a hoosier.:):) We are having the exact same weather today. Let's stay warm and healthy. xoxo,Susie

  6. I have been keeping an eye on that trial, too. How can they NOT find her guilty?!?! But...my hunches have certainly been wrong in the past. I see that there is now a re-investigation into the Casey Anthony trial....
Blessings to you- we are ready for the Super Bowl!!! xo Diana

  10. Even though the Ravens are playing and everyone around is is Raven crazy I just can't get excited about. I'm tired of hearing about them and will be glad when it's over - win or lose.

  11. I don't get football quite. Some games are way more exciting than others. I won't be watching this year. Got a chuckle out of your admiration of the uniform. : )

  12. I'm with you on football. I'm a guy and not embarrassed that I don't like it AT ALL. It's really boring. So on these football days, we are heading outdoors for some fun with the wildlife. Much more exciting I think:)

  13. I have a glance or two that I spare court cases and such but don't watch them avidly...I'm with you on who I felt was guilty with Simpson and Anthony. Football? I get it I think I just have zero interest in it. Our weather brought a couple inches of snow and some cold but it looks to break as of tomorrow...you know I won't shed a tear ;)

  16. What is the Super Bowl? I am just kidding I am not a fan as I know nothing about it. I do love the commercials and the wings that apparently are in short supply. :) Take care Beth. Hug B

  18. That Jodi Arais trial is going on right here very close to where I live. The murder happened up in Mesa, just a few miles from here. The entire story makes me sick to my stomach. I haven't been following the trial except for just what I hear on the evening news. Trials can be interesting, I just think this Arais woman is a total sicko - and yes, totally guilty (I think her boyfriend that she killed was pretty sick too)!

  19. I expect we will watch the Super Bowl, but we certainly don't need lots of snacks to get through it.:-)

January has brought us over 12 inches of rain here, making this the wettest January in many, many years, if not ever!

I hope you have had a good Thursday, Beth. Stay safe and warm!

    xo Nellie

  21. First up I don't get sports at all as for being on a jury I would love to be on a jury but have only ever recieved a notice for jury service once in my life and that was way back when Kathy-Lee was a baby and had to send off the form to be excempt. Hubby has recieved many notices about jury duty but he has never been required to be on a jury.
