Although you wouldn’t have known it when I went out this morning at 6:30 to go to the hospital for a fasting lab. It was dark and 21 degrees then. Even though it is sunny now it is still only 21 degrees. We are in for a January thaw for the next few days, maybe even reaching 50 and some much needed rain.
My niece took me to the hospital and afterwards we ate at Bob Evans. Bob Evans needs to hire some decent cooks and not come and go minimum wage ones. Who in the world can’t cook hash browns? Ours were pale, barely warm and still crunchy. I asked for some more and they brought me more of the same. If my daughter had been with me she would not have liked me complaining, however my niece agreed with me. I was given a complaint card to send in to the company. Big whoopee deal huh. Sorry, it is Monday morning and I am suffering from a sleepless night. I think Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel are about even on their presentation of breakfast.
Enough complaining from me this morning. Enough I think to last for a whole week. I will be nice and cheerful for the rest of the week. I hope it is a good one for you! Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
I hope your tests turn out well! It's cold here also, even thought the sunshine is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThey will never improve if the customer lets things slide. Sherry not only would have sent them back, she would have refused to pay for them if they didn't fix it. Fill the card anyway. Once in awhile they do get the message.
ReplyDeleteI think most of the time those cards NEVER SEE the management..the help just make sure they disappear. I always speak to a manager if I can. I do not eat out any more of any kind so at least I don't have to worry over what they do to the food. Hope your results come back okay and the rest of your week goes well. Take care Sis XOXO
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog. It is very pretty. I hope the rest of your week is better.
ReplyDeleteGlad you complained Beth , not enough People do this hope it does get to Management . Do hope you results are good news.
ReplyDeleteAlways Sheila x
Hope your results turn out fine and no issues. It is very cold over here as well:) We actually had snow the other day further south. I put on all of my midwestern gear:) I am with you on hash browns. Sad that people can't do a basic food properly:) Happy New Year Beth! All my best:)
ReplyDeleteUGH hate when you go to have a nice meal and get to be disappointed :(. That is crazy, they can't fix it and make it right. I would have refused to pay, Rick get's embarrassed when I do that but I think it someone is paying for something it should be done correctly.
ReplyDeleteFill out the card they need to hear it!
Hi Beth,
ReplyDeleteI tend to complain also, I try to do it politely, but let them know I am not satisfied with whatever it is they are providing.
Hope rest of week goes well for you. It is so good that you have family nearby now to support you and take you places
Hugs Nita
bring on the cheer!
ReplyDeleteOh I just cringe to think I've gone and spent that money for a treat and have an unsatisfactory meal-I try to stay polite also but I will never go to that place again. Well, hopefully the week will only be better after a poor start.
ReplyDeleteI think there's few things worse than lousy hash browns. It does really get old when you pay for something and get something that doesn't fit the bill at all. It's cold here with a big cool down predicted come Friday...highs in the teens...not happy to see that but then again I'm not at all astonished.
ReplyDeleteI love Bob Evans - but only if the food is done right!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never eaten at a Bob Evans. We don't have them around here.
ReplyDeleteI hope the rest of your week goes well.
It's been overcast here in Alabama for a few days. It was nice to see the sunshine today.

Beth,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your breakfast. That's always disappointing! I've never eaten at a Bob Evans either. Jason and I just remarked that on Friday night when we passed one on our way to eat at Steak n Shake. And I typically love Cracker Barrel but then I always gets the same thing and it's not breakfast. :)
I hope you have a blessed 2013!
I wanted to thank you for all your visits to my blog too. I sure do appreciate you!
Tammy
First, let me compliment you on your blog appearance. You make me jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteSecondly, your daughter should be glad her mother stands up for herself and doesn't want someone to cheat her out of her money! Who, indeed, cannot cook hash browns??? There's nothing to them!
And for my final comment, I am in complete and entire agreement with you on Cracker Barrel's breakfast! We ate there once for breakfast and came to the conclusion that McDonalds is a better breakfast and MUCH cheaper! We will never go back there for breakfast!
Thanks for venting. You make me feel normal. :) luv ya', Beth!
The cook must have overslept! I haven't ever had breakfast at Bob Evans, so I cannot comment there. However, I do eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel and am glad I am able to order a boiled egg and oatmeal and sliced banana - even skim milk and whole wheat toast - unbuttered. Now you know I'm no fun at breakfast.:-)
ReplyDeleteSending wishes along for a good day!
xo Nellie
Sorry they ruined your breakfast. Hope the rest of your day is brighter. : )
ReplyDeleteI had have excellent breakfasts in both places! I think it just depends on the restaurant!
ReplyDeleteI have had excellent meals at Cracker Barrel...no matter what time of day. Never been in a Bob Evans but I bet you are right. If you don't have someone decent in the kitchen who cares...then you won't get a good product. XXOO
ReplyDeleteWhen in SC we eat at Bob Evans and love all of their food. No complaints ever. Cracker Barrel served cold coffee one time but replaced it immediately when we complained. I think it depends on the individual establishment.
ReplyDeleteAwww...so sorry about your bad breakfast. They really should have made it right.
ReplyDeleteAnytime I have paid for a good breakfast and don't get one, I'd be cranky, too. I certainly hope that you send in your complaint card. Perhaps they'll give you another lousy breakfast. In that case, there's nothing for it, but to take it home and cook it properly yourself. Gheesh. I've never been to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, but I have enjoyed lunches there.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame they didn't make your breakfast right for you. So few companies promote good customer service anymore. Hope the rest of your day went better.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I don't get what I am expecting at a restaurant. That is too bad because it really is kind of a day spoiler. Blessing to you and I hope your tests came out okay- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI am continually amazed at the lack of customer satisfaction when we go out! Recently we visited the International House of Pancakes and they were out of sugar free syrup! How can that happen??
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry your day got off to a bad start. Spring can't come soon enough for me. This dreary Jan. weather has me down!
Hope you rest very soundly tonight, Beth.
Ah, mass produced food - its all aways that good is it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog.

ReplyDeleteKatie said she is ready to ride her trusty steed over to run the varlets at that restaurant through!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is a problem with complaining if you do it nicely, I always say unless someone tells them something isn't right how are they going to know....
ReplyDeleteI hope you filled out the complaint card. Undercooked food can be dangerous sometimes. bleh! I hope your week went better. (I'm behind reading blogs again.)
