13 degrees again…

but at least the sun is shining brightly.  Snow is predicted for Thursday and Thursday night, several inches right now.  I hope that forecast falls flat.

I wanted to clear up something for my friends who thought I didn’t realize it was February instead of November.  I said in a previous post that I bought a turkey at Kroger last week at the unbelievable price of 88 cents a pound.  So I declared at that time that I would fix another Thanksgiving meal for Sunday (today).  I have fixed the turkey and the cherry cheese pie.  I have yet to fix dressing, mashed potatoes and the gravy along with the green bean casserole.  So you see, it is almost a Thanksgiving dinner.  Well, actually, it is as I am thankful that the Good Lord granted me another day.

Hopefully I am done with doctor appointments for this month.  I have 2 in a row in March and then in April begins the dentist for a crown.  That is something I am not looking forward to.

By my driveway at my old home.  It was beautiful in the spring.

Have a peaceful day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  3. Sounds like a grand Sunday meal to me ! I think we should celebrate all the Sundays, just because we can. I always buy turkeys when I find them on sale, because they are a great low fat protein and you can do so many different things iwth them. (I didn't think for a minute you'd gone 'round the bend with the Thanksgiving remark) :)

It's warmish here, and the next few days look like good weather. This morning was low 30's and is still oly 36, but sunny.

I'm debating on a day of laziness or doing some things...rather up in the air these past few days...oh well. It will sort itself out, it always does.

Have a good dinner with your family !!

  6. Hi Beth,

It is or has been, (dark now) a lovely bright sunny day, but a very cold wind. We are being threatened with snow again later in the week, also. Ah well, spring weather cannot be too far away now, I hope.

  8. I'm thankful when I wake up in the morning and I can get out of bed and walk and take care of myself and my dogs. We are down to 42 degrees, which I hope will provide some bug birth control.

    Love,

  9. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy sound wonderful anytime of year. I used to cook like that a lot when my kids were growing up. Now that I live alone I don't do much cooking at all.
It's 35 degrees here and the snow is melting before we have the next round on Thursday.
I hope you are having a great day!

    1. Betty, I have often wondered about you. We went through so much together at about the same time. I know that you helped me so much getting through my losing Jim.

I wonder about your grandchildren. I hope you and all of your family are well.

      Hugs,
      Beth

  19. Whew! Glad you cleared that up! I wasn't going to say anything, but I was getting a tad worried about cha'! lol I really figured it was something like that. I missed the post where you told you got a turkey for 88 cents a pound. I wish I was there eating some left-overs with you...I am starved! The chicken I made for supper was N-A-S-T-Y...and I had to eat a peanut butter sandwich instead. Turkey and dressing sounds really tempting right now!

  20. I envy you the Thanksgiving meal...that sounds so very nice! I guess my only consolation is we're not nearly as cold here...but this week will be all about high twenties and low thirties for highs and gloomy...yuck.

  22. I can't believe that today will be in the 40s with rain later! I don't live that far from you! Teens tomorrow, with snow possible again! I will be glad to see the snow over with! Love the picture of the bush by your former driveway. Thanks for sharing. Hope your Thanksgiving supper went well.

  23. What a pretty bush by your old driveway-I wonder what kind of bush it is?

  24. Hi Beth, if you have something to celebrate, do it ! no need to wait for a date in the calendar.
I hope they are wrong with the weather forecast, I think one snowfall per season is enough.
Like the pretty bush I hope it's being looked after, take care and enjoy the rest of the doctor free month.
