Monday…

and the rain has stopped.  It is 34 degrees and extremely windy.  I have been out to the post office, bank and Kroger.  Kroger has their Private Selection turkeys on sale for 88 cents a pound.  I purchased one and have it thawing in the bottom of the fridge.  This means a Thanksgiving meal on Sunday.  I will ask my daughter and son in law to come and share after church.  So that means mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole and stuffing.  I will skip the pumpkin pie because it is not one of my favorites and go for pecan pie.

Yesterday it rained all day and we got about 3/4 of an inch of rain.  We are still at a deficit.

I am all geared up for Valentine’s Day because as I have mentioned before it is my daughter’s birthday.

I hope this is a good week for all of us.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  10. Well it's raining today which is good, to a point. Then it will freeze. Which is not so good. Another storm is forecast later in the week. They are not sure what will happen pertainig to rain or snow. Don't need more snow though. As they say here in New England, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute."
Pecan pie. You're killing me. Alright I'll put the coffee on.

I'm glad you have had some good rain. We are still in the plus column here - seven inches over average rainfall for this time of year.

Neat that your daughter has a birthday on Valentine's Day. Early happy birthday wishes to her.

  18. Hi again Beth! I have to say today it's in the low 40's and it feels like spring to me. Guess I adjusted to the freezing cold!

  19. What a wonderful meal that will be, and you'll have great left overs for the remainder of the week. The rain we had here melted a good deal of the snow. The ground is still covered, but the piles have really decreased in size. I keep telling myself, winter isn't over yet - we can get some nasty weather even in March - up here anyway.

  21. I love having meals like that out of the blue! That sounds great! My V-Day will be spent with my wife most of the day doing some fun things...kind of nice to do that before the Valentine's Day crowds enter the evening scene! Cool here too...I'm ready to move onto the next season!
