The sun is shining…

and the frost is heavy on the ground.  It is 25 degrees and the sun is starting to shine and the predicted temp for today is 45.

I once had a fellow blogger tell me that no one was interested in reading what my weather was for the day and the mundane things happening in my life.  That was in 2005 and I didn’t let her deter me one bit,  I am still going strong and giving my weather forecast in almost every blog I write.  Also such boring things as doctor appointments, what tests I have had, the date and the results.  This info has proved invaluable since I moved here.

It will be 3 years on April 15th since I moved here.  I can’t get over how fast the time has passed.  I like living in a larger city but I miss my old friends.  I am friendly here with my neighbors but I don’t have any friends like I left behind.  Jo and Sandi and Christine, I miss you all.  But life goes on and we adapt to our environment and that is what I have done.

I see my daughter more now in a week than I did in almost a year at home and I really appreciate her and my son in law!  I see my son a bit less because where I lived before was closer to Chicago and that makes me sad.  I have nieces and a great niece here that I see occasionally so it all balances out.

I am doing laundry this morning, running back and forth to the laundry room while I am typing this.

I have a doctor appointment today so I need to close this off.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. The blogger who told you that has lost site of what blogging is...we blog the way we want to, we eachj have our own unique style and content. No blogger should tell another what they should or should not blog about. I'm glad you didn't let it deter you :)

  3. Hey, I never tire of your content life! Mine can be so hectic that I like just reading about your day-to-day life and marvel that you can live such a peaceful existence. Never change it! You're lucky to be so close to your daughter (and she to you) and to be able to get up and about by yourself. Enjoy life and try to do something different every single day! Oh, and have a great Valentine's Day---surprise someone!

  5. It's not always easy to come up with big exciting things, I can relate. I have an app that shows the weather many of my friends are having on FB which is kind of nice. Life is what it is, keeping a good attitude about it is what it's all about! Have a blessed day my friend!

  6. I like your weather reports. It's fun to see what's going on in other parts of the country. I would love your 45 degrees today. My driveway is so covered with ice I fear for my life just walking to the mailbox. Have a beautiful day!

  7. I understand exactly what your talking about-I am closer to my sister now but further from my brother. The area is village but I've always lived in the country but I'm adjusting and must assume God has a plan for me here.
    Have a good week.

  10. Beth, It's your blog...do whatever you like, my goodness. When I started, I thought I would be showing all my new junk and the transformation of that junk. That is why I called my site, "SheJunks". But I realized , there is more going on than junking in my life...I am thankful for that. So I pretty much just post about my everyday life or interests. I like reading your posts. We never know when we may be helping someone with our own medical issues. xoxo, Susie

  11. Well, that blogger should be banned from blogging....it is YOUR blog, and if they don't like what they read, they don't have to come back! Look how many followers you have....190!!! I'll NEVER have that many...after almost 6 years of blogging, I have 53, which I am very grateful for each and every one!!! I have met the nicest people on here. And I love documenting what the weather was on certain days....because when the weather men say we haven't had such and such in so long...I can prove them wrong! or right! I have it documented! You are such a sweet person...I am so glad we happened upon each other. Hugs. Don't ever let the turkeys get you down!

  13. I wonder why people say things like that. Just don't read the blog if you don't like it. I mention the weather in my blog all the time too.
Glad you didn't let them deter you from blogging. I always enjoy stopping by. : )

  14. I find that in the big city no one has time to make new friends unless one is very outgoing. I have found that if one talks to people then they will talk back to you. If you don't talk to strangers they will not make time to talk either. I make friends very quickly. Most of my old friends have moved away or I have moved, and that is why most friendships fade away.

  17. Interesting that someone would say that, I think we should all write about what we enjoy writing about. I enjoy all the different things that people share on their blogs. I have trouble reading books so all these short stories are wonderful for me!

I am sensitive, that would hurt my feelings! I glad it didn't upset you!

The only kind of blogger that irritates me are preachy know it alls.
Oh by the way it was a beautiful sunny day with temps in the 40's. The snow is melting, but there sure is a lot of it.

  26. Oh my goodness! I can't believe someone would be so rude. I don't know what I would do if I got a comment like that, but I suppose it is bound to happen sooner or later! We find the weather very interesting around here, and it will be fun in years to come to read your little weather updates. How about that ILlini win last night?! Go Big Blue!

  27. Ok let's try this again, blogger died on me for a minute last time I tried to comment.

It really bugs me that people feel the need to tell you what should be on your blog. I love to stop by peoples blog to see what is going on in their lives (which includes apts & weather).

I Love you just the way you are :)

  28. I enjoy your blogs Beth, even if I don't always get the time to comment, we all have different lives and it is obvious our tales will be different, it would be a boring life if we all did the same thing. carry on blogging.
