Well I never…

had this happen to me before.  I was in the pharmacy this morning to pick up a prescription.  While in Walgreens I also purchased some Russell Stover Chocolate Easter eggs.  (I LOVE those things.)  The cashier rang up my candy and forgot to ring up the prescription.  I was almost home before I realized it.  So this meant another trip to the store to pay for my prescription.  The manager must have thanked me a dozen times.  I feel sure the cashier got a lovely talking to after I left.

My stash…

My favorite..

It took me 4 intervals working on my car yesterday to get it all cleaned off.  When the driveway was plowed they put about a foot of snow smack up against my car.  When the sidewalk  was cleaned with the snow blower the snow was packed tight around my tires.  I hurt so bad in my arms, neck, shoulders and back  last night that I couldn’t find enough ways to use the heating pad.  I will never do that again.  I will wait for my daughter to come over and help me.  I keep thinking that I am still a spring chick when the fact is that I am an old hen.  lol

The sun is shining brightly today and it is 31 degrees.  The temps melted some of the snow yesterday.  Our final official total for Pekin was 9.3 inches which was about 9 inches too much as far as I was concerned.

I hope you are all having a sunny week.  Stay safe and be happy!

Beth

  1. I thought of you when I heard how much snow you got down there. We got a little, just a dusting really, but you guys really got hit hard! Don't we all think we can still do the things we did when we were actually spring chickens lol. Hope you feel better today. Take care now ya hear!

  2. Oh Sis it is usually the brain that work fast and our common sense to keep up in doing things we shouldn't do. I know the next day we really pay for it in so many ways. I do hope you will be okay from all that. Do take care of yourself. I like your Easter choices..not too many places around here carry them. I do remember them though. Hope your day is warmer than yesterday. Take care XOXO

  3. I think it was 9.3 inches too much. After all we were suppose to have an "early spring". Hope the aches and pains have eased up.

  4. If I had been the manager, I'd offer you some more candy for free.

  5. Yes I agree with Parsley ^ I would have offered you some free candy as well! Wonderful of you to be so honest by the way. It's truly always the best policy. By the way, I can't believe I've never had Russell Stover Chocolate Easter eggs!!

  6. Honesty is always the best course...whether they gave you more then thanks or not I believe it was planting a good seed...I pray you get a wonderful crop soon! I am no fan of shoveling or snow blowing either. It's been cold but we hit the sixties come Thursday...I'm hoping this carries through for a decent Easter...that's a rare thing in these parts. Blessings to you my friend.

  8. The cashier is probably thanking God you were an honest person. A lot of companies take any shortages out of the employees check. I love the Easter eggs. We just had a huge Rusell Stover outlet open here last month. I need to go see what they have for Easter.

  10. You are in good company with Abraham Lincoln. They say he walked some miles to return a penny which was a lot in those days. Honesty is so important. I sure hope you get Springtime soon. Take care. BGB

  11. What a pain that they pushed and then packed the snow behind your car!

You are a great person for going back to pay. So many wouldn't, just shows what an amazing person you are!

  12. Now I want some of that candy as well because jelly beans are almost gone. I have so little will power! My husband calls that heavy and wet snow heart attack snow. Be careful - it's dangerous to do so much as we age.

  13. I always seem to hit the candy aisle at Walgreens and then I lose all sense of concentration. Good of you to return to the store so promptly.

  15. Love those eggs myself Beth. ha ha - we all think we're young chicks until the body reminds us we're old, tough hens.

  17. Hi Beth,

Know just what you mean about the spring chicken theory. It is hard to accept not being able to do what you could once isn't it? or recover from things so speedily.

Our temps have gone up slightly too, I so hope it is a good sign, although Amanda tells me more snow flurries are forecast.

    Hugs Nita

  18. How good of you to return to the store to pay. I know doing what's right isn't a virtue, but many people wouldn't have bothered. The cashier might have gotten in more trouble if you hadn't come back to pay.

    Love,
    Janie

  19. you are a good person to return to the store , so many would have left it.When my daughter was little we had this happen, I had to drive 40 miles back to town to pay it!
I love those eggs as well, very dangerous around this house! I think you'e wise to wait for some help with the snow, I have no idea of your age but I do know I pay for things now that never bothered me before, time for us to maybe ask for a bit more help, take care, rest up,

  20. I know they were so grateful for your honesty!!! WOW, that's a lot of snow...especially, to clean all by yourself! HOPE you're feeling better by now!!

  21. Great stash of candy! One of my favorites!!
I am sure they were glad that you came back and paid for your meds. I know some people wouldn't bother. But how can one live with themselves? It's the same as shop lifting and stealing not to go back and pay. Good for you!
You are brave to go out shoveling.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your sweet comment. Thank you.

    Happy Easter!

  22. Oh the manager must have been happy to have a good and honest customer. I've never tried those chocolate eggs...good you say? Well perhaps it's time! (I know this, I can't find my favorite Cadbury eggs...all sold out already!)
