Cold and…

snow flurries this morning.  Winter coat, hat and gloves back on.  The temp is 36 degrees and the wind is gusting up to 30 MPH.

I have been to the stores this morning and a quick trip to the bank.  I purchased a roast and I will fix that with carrots and potatoes tomorrow.

My heart is with the little town of West, Texas.  I am saying a prayer for those killed and the survivors.  I am just getting caught up on the news about the Boston Marathon.  I can’t believe two such innocent looking boys could be so evil.  I hope the one brother is caught with no more blood shed.

Nothing much happening here except for the massive amount of rain we had.  East Peoria had a mud slide across the road from the river boat casino that I donate money to once or twice a year.  A little town just a few miles from us had 7.8 inches of rain in the 24 hour period.  I am just so thankful it was rain and not snow.  That would have amounted to quite a few feet of snow.  “The ratio of snow to water can vary a great deal depending on the vertical profiles of temperature and moisture, and how they change during a storm. Typically 1 inch of rain is equal to 1 foot of snow, a 12-1 ratio.”

I hope we all have a peaceful weekend free from violence and stress.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Stay warm Beth! There's so much on TV right now that it's hard to not watch. It's sad that all of this is happening. Sometimes it's too much for me. I have to shut it all down and walk away. This world is a mess!

  4. HI Beth,

Oh no, not more snow. It is colder here again, but hopefully no snow. The terrible things happening are hard to take on board.

Hope you do have a peaceful and restful weekend.

  7. Beth, We had an inch of rain between Tuesday and thursday...then 3 1/2 inches from yesterday through last night. Our town has many flooded areas. We went to town for a few things and the traffic was unreal...because people are trying to find a way around. The police were everywhere closing off streets. Now I worry for other in low areas. No more rain is needed for sure. Yes, it is cold again too. Stay safe and warm this weekend. xoxo,Susie

  9. It is just unreal with the amount of rain you have been having. We had an evening of harder rain too, but nothing like days and days of it that you have been getting. I keep hoping spring will pop out, but it seems like forever this year.

So much sadness for both areas-all I can think to do is pray.

  14. Our heat is on and I so want warmth but from nice sunny days. Our weather is so like yours and I know we're all tired of it. My cousing has 20 inches of snow in northern WI and it's still snowing.
