I took leave…

of my senses today and took down and washed the curtains in both bedrooms and the front and back doors.  I also washed the windows inside.  I still have the living room curtains along with the kitchen and bathroom to do.  Not today though as I was already tired when I started.  It is a beginning on the Spring cleaning though.   I will be getting rid of the bed in my spare bedroom and I am thinking about buying a loveseat or a small sofa.

It is a warm 65 degrees right now and mostly cloudy.  It is very windy,  In fact when I was bringing in a basket of clothes this morning the screen blew shut on my finger and I have a nice little cut to show for it.

I said I wasn’t cooking anymore for a few days but I fixed a chicken casserole for my lunch and had enough left for 3 portions for the freezer.  I do love chicken casserole.

I hope you are all having a great weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. Oh, my! So do I love chicken casserole! It sounds quite tasty.
You have been quite ambitious. I did take down the shower curtain for washing, and I also cleaned the glass in the front storm door. There is much more that needs to be done, but I lack the motivation.:-) Probably spring fever!:-)

  3. you're making me feel very lazy Beth, but I shall ignore the guilty feeling and put off my spring cleaning 'til later. :-)
I felt the warmth of sunshine for the first time in ages, so I have a smile on my face and a song in my heart, 'tis lovely to be alive when the suns smiling down on you. I thought I smelled the lovely aroma of chicken cooking, so I shall be dropping by... (well, may take a while but save me some) ... hugs aplenty my friend. xPenx

  6. The one good thing about getting our house ready to sell is that it's all clean, inside and out. The closets are mostly empty..the shed out back has been cleaned and torn down..the attic is BARE....we are sooo happy to have all that hard work behind us.
Out here in West Texas, where the wind and sand blows a LOT, I quit using curtains long ago. I do have sheers in my dining room but I'm not sure why. I love just the blinds. I don't have curtains at our new place either...
Will your new sofa to go in the guest room be a hide-a-bed type? We have only two bedrooms in our new place and I am thinking of buying a futon for an extra bed, when cousins come to visit....

  7. Hi Beth,

Has it? has it? finally arrived, your side of the pond and mine. I have spring fever today too, but need to build up energy a bit more, before any spring cleaning. Take Care and Pace Yourself.

    Hugs Nita.

  11. I started my spring cleaning a couple of weeks ago...even though the weather outside isn't Spring yet, as I find it easier to do the hardest chores when it is cooler outside. After that I make a nice hearty dinner. Enjoy, but don't do too much in one day.

  12. Hi Beth:
Good not to try to do too much in one day. I've been doing little things building up to the big spring cleaning. :)

    Enjoy your dinner!

  13. It's not so bad cleaning things up if a person is able to open things up and be invigorated by the breeze. It's been really nice here though the clouds come and go and it looks bad the start of next week. Hope the weekend finds you refreshed and ready to face a brand new week my friend.

  15. I wish I could wash curtains, but I have fancy dry clean only drapes. I did not choose them. They came with the house. I'm sure they were expensive and custom made, but I'd rather have simple curtains I can take down and toss in the washer. I'll probably never be able to afford to have all these drapes dry cleaned.

    Love,
    Janie

  27. I'm doing much the same. I just gave a recliner to my sister. I am finally off today and should continue with my spring cleaning if I can find the energy. I honestly have to find the energy to avoid sitting around like a lump. That's what I really want to do.
