Dear blogging friends…

yesterday afternoon I received a diagnosis of cancer.  I have an appointment with an oncologist this coming Thursday morning.  I will know more then what I will be going through.  This was devastating news for me.  Cancer is not a new word for me.  I lived it with 4 siblings and my husband.  None of those cases had a positive outcome.  I would like you all to think of me with kind thoughts and say a prayer if you are so inclined.  Thank you.

It has poured down rain most of today.  Yesterday was beautiful though for our trip home to put flowers on Jim’s grave.  I was able to stop by and see some of my old friends which was very nice.

This is a picture of me taken with with my old beautician Sherri in her shop yesterday.  She is a dear friend that I watched grow up and was her first customer  when she got her license.

Below is a picture of her shop.  I think the picture is really neat as it shows the reflection of the cars parked out front of the shop.

If you click on the pictures they will be larger.

I am pretty shell shocked today as I am trying to digest everything the oral surgeon had to  say.  I will be around to visit you all when I get myself collected.

Love,

Beth

  2. I most definitely will say prayers for you Beth. Its such a scary word. My dearest friend was told she has stage 3 or 4 lung cancer but she is hopeful. Its best not to worry too much until you know more. I know that is much easier said than done. ((Hugs))

  7. Blessings Beth:
You are most definitely in my prayers (I am praying as i write this now). I think we all have that mammoth size log in our throats when it comes to the big C.

There are no adequate words except to say, live every moment. Around 2am this morning I watched a video on Zach Sobiech who said "You don't have to find out you are dying to start living." I was so riveted by this young man, it left me in awe and also wondering if I would have such courage given such insurmountable odds. I share that video simply got to my google+ page at https://plus.google.com/101099217204323189067

You are always in my prayers

  9. Beth, my heart goes out to you. Cancer is probably everyone's worst fear. I believe in prayer, and have seen miracles. I will pray for you and put you on the prayer chain at church. God will be with you and give you strength. I know you have many friends who will also be praying. Take care and write to us when you can and let us know how things are going. I had an aunt whom I dearly loved who had cancer at age 80. She got through it and was cancer free until she finally went to heaven at age 90. God bless you and make you well. Bertie (BGB)

  10. I know you must be devastated right now, but hope will play a big part in your life right now and please, have that hope now while you haven't heard all of the details. You are not new to cancer, how life changing it is for everyone, but remember, there are many who survive.

We are all praying for you, hang in there and let us know how your next appointment goes.

    Much love,

    XO,
    Jane

I'm so very sorry to hear your sad news. I will pray for you!! When we were going through our difficult trial with our Spencer a friend gave me a quote that I loved:

  18. First House of Lime....now you....and my aunt was just diagnosed with lymphoma this past week.....my husband's best friend has pancreatic cancer....my best friend died from colon cancer. My dear Moannie was taken away last October by the c word. I hate it. My dad....he left us 5 years ago....this is so upsetting to me. I cursed....I yelled obscenities. My hubby thought I had lost my mind. Why does this happen to such wonderful people? Why can't they find a cure?

You said you will find out what the oral surgeon has to say....is it in your mouth? your throat? My heart is so heavy now. You take care of yourself. You don't worry about visiting our blogs....unless it helps to lift your spirits. AND PLEASE....get help from those who are close to you when you need it....don't try to do this alone. My dad didn't tell us his feet were numb from the Paclitaxel they used in his treatment during chemo and he fell and broke his hip. Tell your daughter EVERYTHING. Please. I don't want to lose someone else to this horrible thing. Big hugs. Know we all love you, Beth and we are all praying for you.

I love that you stayed with your hairdresser. I did hair for a couple of years and had a few clients that would stick with me no matter what. One time I accidentally cut a bald spot in one ladies hair and she still came back LOL! You can tell how special you are to Sherri ☺
