Yesterday afternoon I had a visit from Rex and Sandi, old friends from home. What a nice surprise to see them. Rex was wearing his St Louis Cardinal t-shirt. I had on my pink ILLINI t-shirt and Sandi was just her beautiful self. We discussed how well our Cardinals were doing and how bad our UI team had done. I had Sandi look through my CDs and take some home with her. She had a nice sack full when she was finished.

As some of you know I had well over 1000 CDs when I decided to do some cleaning out of them. I sent the Elvis CDs to Wisconsin and Anne Murray to southern Illinois. I gave away some to my daughter’s friends and some to Good Will. I haven’t even made a dent in them. Of course my Jones CDs are not displayed for the public. lol
It has just rained and rained and rained until I am sick of it. I had planted 2 tomato plants in pots and the last big downpour floated one of my tomato plants away. Last year the sun baked them and this year the rain drowned them. Oh well, there is always the Farmer’s Market.
Have a peaceful Sunday. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
There is still time to plant another tomato plant Beth. All the best.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have old friends visit!
ReplyDeleteWe gave up trying to plant a few veggies. We have a farmer's market about 1/2 mi from us, so we'll just visit there often!
What lovely friends you had visiting. I hear you about the CD's. I still have tons of them, too. Now I wish I had the money back that I spent on some of them- lol We probably have a lot of the same CD's. I loved Anne Murray and people used to say I sounded like her when I sang...I don't sing as much anymore though.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good day- we have rain predicted for all week long- xo Diana
What a nice day for you - to have friends from "home" visit with you. Yes, there is still time to get another tomato plant. This darn weather is horrible for so many this year.
ReplyDeleteOld friends mean so much and are awesome to have visit after not seeing them for a while.
ReplyDeleteLifetimes merge and support grows stronger. You are fortunate.
I always wanted to clear out my physical disks since I only listen to the digitized version of them all now but my wife never wants me to do it :\ So glad you had a nice visit my friend, God bless you.
ReplyDeleteglad you got to see old friends!
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to have old friends visit. Sorry about your tomato plants. Not too late to start them again, only this time protect them from down pours! lol
ReplyDeleteSurprise visitors are lovely to have.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that is a lot of CD'S...wow!!
I suppose you could buy another tomato plant and grow it if the rain stops.
What a fun and wonderful surprise Twin. I love things like that here or for my friends! And girl, I can't even have a tomato plant to have float away (it is POURING hard here for 24 hrs so far) as the raccoons will get it and tear it up. :-( Makes me sorry but as you said, there is always the farmers market. xxoo
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely surprise indeed! Glad to know you are able to part with some of your CD's.
ReplyDeleteWonderful when we get nice surprises like that.Glad you had a nice visit with them. Continued prayers dear Sis..always XOXO
ReplyDeleteBeth, So nice you had time with good friends. I miss my dearest friend who has passed on. I miss my mom too. She was also my friend.:):) I have very few cds...I treasure my Carpenter's and Tom Jones cds. And that would be one of each.LOL Hope you have some sunshine soon ...we are just tired of this crazy rain, wind, and cloudy days. I am so ready for sweet pleasant June weather. That is what I will wish for you too. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful visit. I'll be praying for your test next week and the decision ahead for your treatment. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteWow you have me beat on the cd count! I've got about 300 LP's, most of which I would part with. I wish I had kept them in better shape. It is quite nice to see old friends again. That hasn't happened to me in a while. It has been hot around here the last few days. Next week looks to be beautiful. Where we're going looks to be a little iffy on a couple of days. It will be cooler than up here. Still I don't care.
ReplyDeleteWho knows Beth. It could be another Cardinal's/Red Sox series! Boy do I remember 1967! The Sox were the "cardiac kids". They went from 9th place to the World Series. They lost to your Cardinals, who were a very good team. And what can you say about Bob Gibson! We got you back in 2004, ending the "Curse of the Bambino". Two great baseball towns!
I'll be in touch. I'm bringing a baby laptop with me. I'll toast you as I watch the sunset at Aquinnah!
I'm so happy that you had a visit from some dear friends. :)
ReplyDeleteHope the rain slows down and you can save your tomato plants.
hugs,
Marie

ReplyDeleteMy daughter asked me yesterday where I got all of the new cd;s...I told her Goodwill for .25 a piece!!! a win win here!
What a nice surprise to have your friends visit!
ReplyDeleteWe are finally enjoying a nice sunny day here. It's been quite awhile since we have seen one.
Always nice to have a visit with friends! Glad you enjoyed your time together.
ReplyDeleteBad luck with the tomatoes!!! Maybe the one plant that is left will produce the best tomatoes you've ever had! : )
I love your header....simply beautiful!!! Sorry about your tomato plants. I have out about 6 and that many cucumbers, too. We got rain last night and today and our yard and the veggies and flowers really needed it. HOPE this finds you feeling better!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you. That had to be really special. Take care and have fun. Bertie (BGB)
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you. That is always special to visit with old friends. Take care and be happy! Bertie (BGB)
ReplyDeleteYou're getting younger and younger every time I see you! What fun to have friends stop by. Sounds as if she was blessed by doing so big time. How nice of you to decide to release some cds to bless others. That's such a cool idea. I should start releasing a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteDear Beth, How wonderful to have a visit from your long-time friends. Jaiden is still wearing his St Louis Cardinals hoodie you bought him. Though this may be the last windter, he's had quite a growth spurt lately. I'm 5ft3in and he's almost, not quite, as tall as me. Yikes! Well my dear friend I pray this new week brings you much joy and many blessings! Sending you lots of love and hugs aplenty! Kerrie & Family xOx
ReplyDeleteI let my CD's go years ago
ReplyDeletei do love the farmers markets but it is also so rewarding to have home grown!!
ReplyDeletei hope you had a great weekend!!
Hi there - I wonder how long it will be before kids ask "what's a CD" - we got a record player out this weekend just to show the kids! They were amazed - and when they danced the record jumped!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the pictures and words.

What a wonderful surprise for you!
ReplyDeleteI love surprise visits!! And 1,000 CDs? That's A LOT :)
ReplyDeleteBut then again, I once had almost 1,000 cassette tapes :)
Wow 1000 CD's I was never much into buying CD's my hubby maybe bought about 50 of them. But I am getting a ipod soon and will finally get some music that I enjoy. I love hubbies music, but I have never really been able to listen to what I enjoy. So soon my walks will be filled with music. I am sure many people are now blessed with some of your collection. How wonderful to have friends dropping in. Hope the sun will be shinning on you soon. I know you will be complaining about the heat then. Been good here. Showers, sun all day. Great growing weather. But the showers can come in an instant with no warning even with the sun still shinning. I almost have all plants in the ground. One more flat of marigolds that I started from seeds in the greenhouse. I am not doing tomatoes this year only bought one hanging basket of them. Garden almost all planted just have to plant my leek seedlings. The days are flying by too fast with working all day. You are in my thought always. Hugs Carrie
ReplyDeleteAhhh I'm so glad you had visitors!
