  1. You should be proud of you niece, what a wonderful girl. These are God's children too, and deserve the very best from us.

  2. The "kids " at Mainstream are so special. They make you realize how fortunate you are to have them. It takes very little to make them happy. Just to know that they are loved.

  14. I understand this. We have a grandson born with Spina Bifida many years ago. I helped care for him for awhile when he was very young. His life is so unbelievably different although he's in his late 20's now. He will always be a special needs person. So sad. Still praying for your speedy return to health and happiness. Bertie

I know how hard Cole wants to fit in just being his hyperself really makes it hard at times and it breaks my heart when I see his heart break over disappointment and rejection.

  22. On my blog. I have a friend name Jamie I mentioned. She is Special needs lady. She got married July 20th of this year and she has a heart of gold. I learned many years ago the term Special Needs. Jamie came into my life direct from God when she was like 19 and she is now 33.

She taught me all about how she is. Her tempers she had. Her fears, tears she cried. I had not any clue what they were about. At first I thought she was very spoiled, ignorant, bossy and then other times she wore her heart on her sleeves. She had strange ways. She was more like a boy rough and swore like a trooper when I first knew her.

So I now know what they are as people.

So your niece is a wonderful person. And if people will just take time to figure the differences in personalities and learn all ablout them and not judge. It will all work out fine.

Jamie and I had our struggles for one year. She walked like a guy, talked like a guy. Yet out from those beautiful eyes I knew there was a pretty girl wanting to come out.

Well Jamie is pretty and she likes pretty tops and sandles. No she did not want a lacyfancy traditional wedding dress but she pickd out a coloured dress and she did pick out a head piece of blue gems. Her husband bought her the most beautiful ring. It sparkles so many diamonds.

She has found her Prince and he has found his Princess. So all a good ending.

Jamie is so well know in our town for the nicest smile and encouragement to others. She is a born again Christian now. Her step sister is the co-ordinator of Special needs. Plus Jamie is involved also.

So now Jamie is Mrs not Miss anymore.
